Black Myth Wukong has become the second most played game on Steam: higher than Palworld and Counter-Strike (both are multiplayer games), it peaked at 2.2m concurrent players!

Heavy and hot G-SYNC modules are now a relic — the technology that had "premium" features only with a dedicated chip, is going to use Mediatek power now to bring all visual features into a single module.

Which means, that the main processor of several gaming monitors will have integrated G-SYNC premium features. And they promise to deliver even better clarity with Variable Refresh Rates, than ever before. And it will now be cheaper and cooler.

G-SYNC Pulsar will debut on newly announced monitors, including the ASUS ROG Swift 360Hz PG27AQNR, Acer Predator XB273U F5, and AOC AGON PRO AG276QSG2.

These monitors, expected later this year, feature 2560×1440 resolution, a 360Hz refresh rate and HDR support.

There's a crazy guy with a small studio who fights Unreal Engine 5:

He is a rendering programming professional and believes that both Nanite virtual geometry and Lumen lightning are a bad choice for games. And these features should be done differently in the majority of cases to achieve both better look and better performance.

He heavily criticize virtual shadow maps and TAA in it's current form, and both DLSS and FSR as they are compared only to TAA shots.

Here's his take on Nanite:

The folks behind Unity Shader Bible are making the same book for #GodotEngine and it will be released in 2025!

The Calisto Protocol is #Free on Epic Games Store! The game still works bad on GPUs with 8GB VRAM and still struggles from stuttering caused by shaders compilation. But both issues are significantly less noticable than it was at lunch.

So, IMO, it's worth trying!

😮 Wukong outperformed most AAA games: they sold over 10m units in 3 days!
Meanwhile, Concord has one concordillion players! 👏😮

Yes, they sold approximately 3-5K copies and can't reach even a thousand active players (even Justice League had like 13K). The game developed for over 8 years peaked at 622 poor fellas trying to find a battle.

Folks, hear me out!

Your game shouldn't be free, please, guys, you are not making it better by releasing fairly good games for free. Yes, your first game too. Yes, even a crappy one. It will not make a value for you and for the industry.

Look at Epic Store: they are giving away games and barely any person ever plays them. You can get amazing AAA projects for free, but somehow people get them and mostly don't play.

In your case it's even worse: you don't have a loyal audience and making it free barely helps. Just aim for a somewhat reasonable project and price it accordingly.

And since we are quoting SteamDB so much, here's my take on live-service paradox!

Well, #GodotEngine and #Unity are now supported on Opera GX
