Meanwhile, Astro Bot is a big success from a small team within #PlayStation β€” a surprise hit that slightly improves the situation after Concord's failure

There is a free (GPLv2) Background removal tool that do not rely on a specific GPU and works as an OBS plugin on Windows, Linux, and macOS.

Unlike NVIDIA Broadcast, it can remove backgrounds from anything, including still images of objects! And it is way more flexible even when separating people.

Finally: #PlayStation is going to show the PS5 Pro β€” a way higher performance is expected with possible usage of unannounced new Radeon architecture.

With all my love for hardware, the biggest issue of modern consoles isn't about performance, but lack of games.

The Crew 2 is 98% off on #Steam. The game isn't too serious or realistic and instead focused on variety and sandbox experience. The only modern game where you can really race for over an hour or freeride through the entire United States. It has airplanes, boats, destruction derby, stadium racing events, and more.

Also, how can they keep selling it anyway after they shut down the original Crew? I mean: a great offer and you still better be not buying it.

Remember the insane idea by #Unity, called "Runtime Fee"?

It was announced last Autumn that developers will have to PAY PER INSTALL OF THE GAME. And since developers are not EARNING PER INSTALL, it caused loss of about 30% of their customers. Then they fired John Riccitiello, made "improved runtime fee", and finally, a year later, it's failed miserably. Even more clients left, and they are giving up on it.

Instead, they raised prices:
β€” Pro: 8% raise, $2200 USD/annually
β€” Enterprise: 25% increase

Did you know, that you can run games in 4K even if your screen can't? On NVIDIA the feature is called DSR and it's available in Nvidia Control Panel (3D settings).

When 2.25x scale is enabled, games will be able to run in 4K and then be downscaled into native 1440P or 1080P. It clears all aliasing from the image (both geometry and materials), but requires a lot of compute power to run (since it's literally running in 4K). Which makes it perfect for older games.

Also, AC Syndicate looks insanely good in 2024. And it's not blurry even with native resolution. Not sure how they managed to make it 8 years ago.
