To make movies sound good, it's crucial to build almost entirely fake sounds, purely esthetical and subjective. It's even more important for games!

With huge fines and trading limitations as the penalty, FTC now restricted fake reviews in many forms of this term. It applies not only to the US but to all goods and services available in the US. It will seriously limit product placement in influencers accounts, ADs that look like a review, and well, purchased reviews that exist even on Steam and are crucial for mobile platforms.
The rule has been announced in August and is now finally active.

Just created a simple color grading shader graph for Godot 4!
π‘ It can control color temperature and green tint of the whole image + separately apply additional values for bright and dark areas (if needed).
Godot already provides LUT support and color correction via textures, but this one is much easier to use and achieve artistic vision for a casual audience.
Will share it later on GitHub with some more examples!

As promised: here is the project (compatible with Godot 4.3): there are two shaders right now β Mini and Extra.
ColorCorrection Mini
Tune color temperature, brightness, saturation, and green tint of the whole image. With this simple and fast shader you can easily make the game feel colder, warmer, or more dangerous (like on icy mountains, hot volcano, or poisoned swamps respectively).
ColorCorrection Extra
Same as Mini, but with extra sliders to tweak Bright and Dark areas separately, so the results are almost unlimited: you can turn day into night in a few clicks.

Good morning, fellas π

Hey, folks, I created two issues and one proposal in Godot 4 GitHub, feel free to support:
1. Any graphs (like visual shaders) are sensitive to system scale, but they only change SIZES, not positions, and get mashed together: https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/98513
2. If you change the scale on runtime, it crashes: https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/98514
3. Shaders and Scripts editors both have FILES tab that takes too much space on smaller screens: https://github.com/godotengine/godot-proposals/issues/11026
4. UPD: Color Operations only work in 0-1 range which causes clipping in bright areas: https://github.com/godotengine/godot/issues/98515

As usual, #XBox just launched Call of Duty Black Ops 6 and covered it up with another sad story of their imminent death as the hardware company!

Despite my hate to cloud-based features, there is one I liked recently: Avenge quests in Valhalla!
Every hour or so you can find a dead player and look around for NPCs who killed him to avenge. Once I found a fella who died... TO A SNAKE. You can't die from a snake in this game, it's ridiculous, dammit, they are too weak and slow π€£
And yes, those are chickens on the screenshot I found online about this feature π€‘
