Another amazing news: RTX 50 cards are unable to run PhysX in older games, since some of these titles rely on 32-bit version while RTX 50 only works with 64-bit one.

The list of affected games includes Borderlands 2, Metro: Last Light, AC Black Flag, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfare 2, Mirror's Edge, Mafia II, Batman: Arkham City, and more (full list).

Oddly enough, NVIDIA decided they need some good news too and finally open sourced the GPU kernel for Physx.

For a few years their physics library was open source in general, but was able to run on a CPU if NVIDIA GPU wasn't found. Now it's in the past and 3rd party GPUs may become compatible.

They also messed up with RTX 50, which is on a hardware level unable to run 32-bit Physx in old games. It may be fixed by some software tricks now.

Physics in games is such a forbidden knowledge, that modern developers can't make a fabric in games, which was absolutely possible 20 years ago!

To be even more precise: Ico from 2001 used to have a fairly good cloth simulation, which was 24 years ago. And Red Faction from the same year. How did we end up with THIS?
