#DLSS from #NVIDIA finally meets a working competitor: #FSR 2.0 by #AMD:

– You still don't need AI-cores
– It has to be implemented via Render pipeline to use Per-pixel Motion Vectors and Previous frames

It's not just "good", but Better than native 4K and QHD.
And it will work on consoles, NVIDIA and Radeon (RX 500 or better)

Good news: AMD finally shared the source code of FSR 2.0 – their updated tech to upscale games, this time with vector-based data.

Even better one – Godot team is going to implement it soon in Godot 4. After Alpha 10, that received TAA, implementation of FSR is just a matter of time.

Keep in mind, that this isn't for low-end machines anyway: to increase framerates, FSR 2.0 must be used with hight-end visuals and at least mid-core GPUs.

Seems fine!

The updated Cyberpunk 2077 (2.0) has Ray Reconstruction for Path Tracing mode that runs better and has almost no visual glitches (no flickering, etc).

The problem is: that NPCs are still dumb, police now can chase you on cars and bikes (still broken mess), and all common glitches are not gone anywhere.

Works acceptable on RTX 3060 Ti + Ryzen 5600X with DLSS Performance, Path Tracing, and High-Medium settings.

It's getting interesting: recently AMD fixed their FSR 3 Frame Generation tech with the big update (and made it #OpenSource) so folks were able to combine DLSS for upscaling and FSR 3 for FG on RTX 3080, that can't support NVIDIA native frame gen: it works perfectly!

Path Tracing is now fully playable on NVIDIA RTX 3000.

Built-in Super Resolution appeared in Windows 11 Beta preview: the feature is hardware-independent and can be used for various parts of the OS from games to camera.

It may work as DLSS equivalent, since NVIDIA is using the feature to upscale games, online video and stream from web cameras. With system-wise support, Super Resolution can become more common and handy.
