Just discovered yet another GIF from my 2016 Owl Game prototype, made with Godot 2

At this stage the owl was able to land on nearly any reasonable surface, so it could land on the ground and on branches of the forest.

Also, I love to use debug information attached to the character. Sending it to the console or some corner of the screen is fine, but I really want it in the same spot the tester gonna look at.

One moderator got offended by Marek Tymiński, the CEO of the publisher of Lords of the Fallen.

Why? The CEO made a poll regarding genders in the game and based on the results renamed them back to Male and Female.

The solution? Moderator hijacked the whole subreddit, banned everyone else, and restricted any links except Bluesky.

Unity fired an undisclosed number of workers last morning by sending out a 5 AM email. The biggest loss is among Helsinki office. And this is the sixths significant layoffs wave in Unity in the last couple of years.

It's interesting that this time they attacked a cash cow: Unity ADs was heavily affected.

Crytek fired 15% of their workforce (60 out of 400) and paused the development of the upcoming Crysis game. To be more specific, it was on hold since Q3 of 2024.

They will focus on Hunt Showdown and CryEngine development services. The success of Kingdom Come Deliverance helped them to get more interest from the potential engine users.

Oh, that stuff!

NVIDIA RTX 5090 is powered by one 600W cable, and it isn't enough to properly work for a long run. There is something wrong with the overall architecture of power system, that makes two wires overheat way above 100C (up to 150 after just a few minutes). Instead of making each cable to deliver 5–10 amps, one of them is loaded above 20 amps. Then, when the loaded one fail, the others are getting the aftershock.

Someone managed to release a malware containing game on Steam. It took Valve 2 days to find it out, take down the game, and announce the issue to anyone who played it.

This already happened before, but keep in mind that even Apple Store checkup can be passed by blatant malware these days.

Remember how Adobe was silently adding all your content from Creative Cloud to train their Firefly AI? Well, they are apparently launching the notoriously bad final vision of it:

You need a separate subscription on top of your existing Creative Cloud one, it's very limited in length and features, and yes, it uses everything they stole from their users before.

Funny enough, their most expensive CC subscription is still promoted with "all the AI features included" while Firefly isn't available for those dumbasses who paid all that.

There's one thought I have regarding all the announcements: it's all good but also feels like Marvel movies these days.

How many times should we yet again save the universe? How many coming of age stories with a bit of science fiction and cell shader should we live through? How many skinny gothic girls with swords should fight big monsters and robots?

Wanna good story? Ground it!
