The work of the Council of the League of Arab States at the summit level at its 33rd session kicked off in the Bahraini capital Manama on Thursday, in the presence of kings, presidents and leaders of Arab countries.

Bahrainโ€™s King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa inaugurated the summit, which he took over from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, representing King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

In his speech, the King of Bahrain said: โ€œThe Arab summit is being held amid very complex regional and international circumstances of devastating wars, painful humanitarian tragedies and threats that affect our nationโ€™s identity, security, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

The King continued: "In light of the denial of the legitimate rights to which the Palestinian people are subjected, there is an increasing need to develop a common and urgent Arab position that adopts a method of collective solidarity to stop the bleeding of wars and establish a final and just peace as an irreplaceable option if we want to win our human will in the battle for peace."

The King pointed out that Bahrain is advancing a number of initiatives to contribute to serving the core issues of stability in the region, namely: calling for an international conference on peace in the Middle East, full recognition of the State of Palestine and its admission to membership in the United Nations and providing educational and health services to those affected by conflicts and disputes in the region.

The League of Arab States sent invitations to the President of the Libyan Presidential Council, Muhammad al-Manfi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Counselor Aguila Saleh, and the President of the Supreme Council of State, Muhammad Takala.

These efforts come within the framework of an initiative led by the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, who seeks to present a paper that includes all the concerns of the three Libyan parties, with the aim of agreeing on a clear mechanism for holding presidential and legislative elections as soon as possible.

Activating this agreement faces a major obstacle, which is the armed formationsโ€™ rejection of any settlement of the political process without involving them in future arrangements related to the election process, given their great influence in various Libyan cities.

Participants in the consultative meeting on coordinating peace initiatives and efforts in Sudan, called for by the League of Arab States, welcomed Egyptian efforts to hold a conference of Sudanese civil political forces at the end of this month to launch a Sudanese national dialogue.

The attendees considered Cairoโ€™s efforts an important contribution to enhancing consensus between the various political forces, allowing the crisis to calm down, and bringing viewpoints closer together. They appreciated the various gatherings of Sudanese civilians that were held with the clear goal of contributing to the establishment of a comprehensive and inclusive political dialogue.

They condemned all types of crimes committed against civilians in Sudan during the ongoing conflict, the most recent of which was the heinous massacre committed by the Rapid Support Forces on June 5, 2024, in โ€œWad Al-Noura villageโ€ in โ€œAl-Jaziraโ€ state, which caused the death of more than 158 people, including 35 children, and the attack on the South Hospital. A member of the Libyan House of Representatives, Abdel Moneim Al-Arfi, expressed his dissatisfaction with the actions of the Head of the State Council, Mohamed Takala, and accused him of being unique in making decisions and being openly biased towards the head of the outgoing Libyan government.

๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ

Al-Arfi indicated in press statements that Takala rejected the idea of โ€‹โ€‹holding a meeting under the auspices of the Arab League, which sparked an internal crisis.

Al-Arfi stated that Takala reduced the State Council to his person and became clearly inclined towards Dbeibeh, which led to disagreements between members of the Council who did not agree with his policy.

He also urged Takala to take positive steps towards forming an executive government and unifying Libyan institutions.

The head of the Supreme Council of State in Libya, Mohamed Takala, suspended his participation in the next round of dialogues on the Libyan crisis, held under the auspices of the Arab League in Cairo.

๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡พ

The suspension of Takalaโ€™s participation came in response to the House of Representativesโ€™ approval of the draft budget law without prior consultation with the Supreme Council of State, thus violating the terms of the political agreement concluded between the parties.

In his statement, which he published on the Facebook platform, Takala expressed his objection to the measures taken by the House of Representatives, noting that this action contradicts the principles of the political agreement signed in Skhirat, Morocco, which obliges both parties to consult before making decisive decisions.
