On Thursday, the Egyptian Court of Cassation issued a final verdict upholding the previous verdict issued by the Criminal Court last January against actress Menna Shalaby for possessing drugs.

The verdict sentences the artist to one year in prison, suspended, and fines her 10,000 Egyptian pounds, after being convicted of possessing drugs for personal use.

On December 21, 2022, the Public Prosecution ordered the referral of the famous actress to criminal trial after she was caught in possession of narcotic substances at Cairo International Airport while returning from the United States, and she was later released pending investigations on bail.

On Saturday, the Cairo Criminal Court sentenced the defendant “Othman.M” to three years in prison on charges of smuggling migrants abroad illegally and fined him one million pounds.

According to the Public Prosecution’s investigations into Case No. 18318 of 2023 (Nozha Felonies), the defendant joined an organized terrorist group that specialized in smuggling migrants in exchange for money.

The defendant confessed to committing the crime immediately after his arrest, and after the prosecution’s investigations, he was imprisoned and referred to the Criminal Court, which issued its verdict today.

Last month, the same Egyptian court sentenced a gang of 9 to 10 years in prison and a fine of EGP 2 Mn for smuggling young people and children into Europe via Libya.

The Egyptian security services in the Assiut Security Directorate are intensifying their efforts to uncover the mystery behind the incident of finding the body of a slaughtered child, dumped among the crops of the village of Al-Hammamiya, affiliated with the Badari Center.

According to the “Cairo 24” website, the incident began with the Assiut Security Directorate receiving a notification from the Badari Police Station, stating that a report had been received from the people in the village of Al-Hammamiya, that the body of a 7-year-old child had been found, slaughtered, with his hands amputated, and dumped among the crops.

Investigation officers and security forces immediately moved to the site of the report, where the inspection revealed that the body belonged to the child, “Muhammad A.A.M.

A 4-storey property collapsed in Port Said Governorate, northern Egypt, today, Saturday, a few hours before the decision to evacuate it was implemented, and the authorities continue to search for survivors under the rubble.

The Egyptian authorities received a report of the collapse of a property on Al-Baladiya Street in Al-Manakh neighborhood in Port Said, causing injuries. Immediately, civil protection forces and ambulances rushed to the site of the accident.

It turned out that the property was inhabited by a small number of people, including a young man and his wife who had gotten married just days before.

The forces were able to recover a 23-year-old young man, and he was taken to the hospital, and the authorities began removing the rubble to search for other victims or injured people.

The Egyptian city of Al-Maasara prosecutor began investigating five defendants in a horrific crime, in which they threw a child from the fifth floor after he resisted them during an attempt to rob his father’s house.

Al-Maasara Police Department investigation officers received a signal from Qasr Al-Aini Hospital stating that a 14-year-old child had been received with fractures and internal bleeding.

The police immediately went to the hospital to examine the case and confirm the circumstances. During the investigation, it became clear that the child was present in the house during the robbery attempt, and when he tried to resist the thieves, they threw him from the fifth floor.

On Tuesday, Egyptian security services in Cairo were able to arrest a “tuk-tuk “driver for making immoral movements while a woman was riding with him in Old Cairo.

The incident began when the Old Egypt Police in the Cairo Security Directorate received a report from a woman suffering from a crack in her facial bone and left humerus.

The woman reported in her report that while she was riding a tuk-tuk on her way back from work, the driver made indecent movements, and when she asked him to stop so she could get out, the driver refused to stop, forcing her to jump out of the vehicle while it was moving, which led to her injury.

After investigations, the driver was identified and arrested. He admitted to committing the incident, and the necessary legal measures were taken against him, and he was referred to the Public Prosecution.

An entire Egyptian family was killed on Monday, as a result of a collision between two transport vehicles and a private car on the Badr City Road.

The security services received a report stating the death of a family consisting of the father, Ibrahim Ahmed Abdel Fattah Al-Ghawabi, 42 years old, his wife, Dina Maghazi, and their three children, Aser, Ahmed, and Malak, all of whom are from the village of Hamada, the Awlad Saqr center in Sharkia Governorate.

Investigations reported that the family was spending the summer vacation in Egypt after they came from the Emirates, where the father works, and Emirati residency cards for the children were found in the family’s belongings, indicating that they were living with their father in the Emirates.

The Egyptian authorities are intensifying their efforts to arrest a Sudanese citizen who killed a Sudanese woman by shooting her in front of passers-by in the Giza region in southern Egypt, before fleeing the scene.

It was reported that the authorities received a report that a Sudanese woman was killed by a Sudanese citizen’s bullets in front of the UNHCR in 6th of October City.

Immediately, security forces moved to the scene of the accident, where they found a woman in her fifties dead as a result of a gunshot wound.

The “First of October” prosecution office in Egypt issued a decision to release five individuals with guarantees of their place of residence after they were accused of assaulting Nahawand Sari, the presenter of Al-Ahly Channel, inside a cinema.

The incident began when the broadcaster tried to talk to the defendants about taking their children to watch a movie that was not suitable for children (for virgins only), which led to the outbreak of a dispute that developed into an assault on her.

Nahawand stated in the police report that the dispute began when she expressed her objection to the inconvenience caused by the presence of children in the hall, which spoiled her viewing experience.
