“Wuhan pneumonia” A clash in Nagoya airport in Japan! 70 Shanghaineses blocked 19 Wuhan people boarding

Because Wuhan is the original place of the pneumonia virus, Hubei Wuhan people are blacklisted by the whole China. “Civil war” of mainlanders was extended to Nagoya, Japan. On the third day of the Chinese Lunar New Year (27 Jan), 70 Shanghainses refused to fly back to Shanghai with 19 Wuhan people, alarming police in Japan and the Chinse consulate in Nagoya, Japan. The flight finally could take off after the clash lasted for 5 hours. All 19 Wuhan people were quarantined after they arrived Shanghai Pudong airport. More than 70 Shanghaineses were success in this stand. They could change to different airlines without any surcharge and receive accommodation fee.

At 9:25pm of 27 Jan morning, the flight of the China Southern Airlines, CZ380, was scheduled to Shanghai. After check-in, a Shanghai auntie found some passengers were chatting in Wuhan dialect and they were taking medicine for flu. After she found the situation of enemies, she told her fellows immediately. Shanghainese passengers rushed to the check-in counter and spoke to a ground crew, “These Wuhan people have fever now. Can’t let them board.”

Wuhan passengers insisted that they didn’t have problem. The fight was heated up quickly and more people participated. A Shanghainese said, “ If Wuhan people are allowed to board, we will reject to board!” Both parties locked in stalemate. 19 Wuha people have boarded. Someone said, “You don’t board, I board!”

Then Shanghaineses called to Shanghai airport and different departments of government and reported. They urged authorities should have an action firmly to reject Wuhan people to go to Shanghai. And they requested to check body temperature of Wuhan passengers in Nagoya airport. As a result, one of Wuhan passengers was found to have fever at 37.1℃. The China Southern Airlines suspended that flight. However, fever of that passenger was gone later. Therefore, quarantine officer let him board finally. The flight took off at 2:30pm of the local time. There were 100 passengers in the plane originally. After negotiation, 70 Shanghainese could change to other airlines and 19 Wuhan people were quarantined immediately after arriving at Shanghai.

The National Health Commission of Shanghai confirmed that 27 passengers were in the flight of CZ380. 19 people of them have been Wuhai in 14 days. 19 people were sent to designated place for quarantine centrally. And tests have been done. Results of the first test were negative for all.

Trudeau confirms some cargo planes sent to China for pandemic supplies returned empty

//A cargo jet chartered by the federal government to deliver badly needed personal protective equipment (PPE) from China was forced to leave the airport in Shanghai without the shipment on board.

//The precious cargo of pandemic supplies wasn't lost or bought out by another country.

//"This occurred due to on-the-ground congestion caused by a significant surge in cargo flights out of terminals at the Shanghai Airport. As a result, the intended cargo was unable to get to the plane before its required takeoff time,"

//The cargo still belongs to Canada; it's in a leased warehouse in Shanghai and the government says it will be delivered on a later flight.

//The missed deliveries are a setback for Canadian procurement efforts — but such supply interruptions don't mean the fragile PPE supply chain is completely broken.

//Trudeau did not deny the report, saying Canada, like other countries, has struggled to get orders filled at a time when the entire world is trying to buy the same pandemic supplies.

//Canada has taken steps to build its own supply network for PPE to avoid some of the chaos affecting the global supply chains.

//The government also has hired two companies to identify reliable PPE manufacturers and to help with transportation, storage and customs clearances.

//These measures have allowed the federal government to deliver millions of masks and gloves to front line workers and to help bolster provincial procurement efforts.

Voices of April: Video Protesting Shanghai Lockdown Goes Viral in China, Despite Chinese Censors

On April 22, A 6-minute protest video about Shanghai's locked-down residents went viral on Chinese social media.

The video featured audio snippets from various videos recorded in #Shanghai throughout April, when the city was plunged into a month-long #COVID lockdown since late March. The recordings, played over black-and-white drone footage of the city, documented the residents' ordeal over the past month: food and supply shortages, quarantine separating parents from their children, pets being beaten to death, hospitals turning away patients, makeshift hospitals missing essential supplies and even lacking a roof, and so on.

China's government censors moved quickly to block the video, but netizens continued to tenaciously spread the video on social media and instant messaging platforms in China.

Netizens have added English translations and reposted the video on Youtube. Watch here: (turn on English captions)

Shanghai Violinist Leaped to his Death after COVID Restrictions Denied him Medical Assistance

71-year-old amateur violinist Chen Shunping, who lived in #Shanghai, had taken his own life after being denied medical help for his suspected pancreatitis during the city's month-long lockdown. He was a member of the Shanghai Pops Orchestra.

Three #COVID19 deaths had been recorded [Ed: as of April 18] since Shanghai's lockdown began in late March, all of whom were seniors with chronic illnesses.

However, reports often surfaced on Chinese social media surrounding deaths of patients not being able to get medical treatment.

According to chat messages from Chen's family, he began to feel unwell in the evening of April 13, with stomach pains and vomiting; from experience, he suspected it was pancreatitis.

His family called an ambulance, who took Chen to two separate hospitals, but both turned him away, citing COVID restrictions. Unable to endure the severe pain, Chen left suicide notes for his family before leaping to his death from his apartment.

Chen's wife was stricken with grief as she remembered him as a cheerful and kind man, with a passion for life and music: "This society had taken an ordinary, lively man and pushed him to his death!"

His death also sparked outcry online; netizens commented that he "didn't get COVID, but died because of COVID."

A separate incident of a pregnant Shanghai woman who died from blood loss during a premature birth also circulated on social media. Shanghai police quickly refuted it as "fake news", announcing that the woman successfully gave birth to twins, and that they had arrested the spreader of the rumor.

Netizens were quick to react: "Why don't you refute Chen Shunping's fake news?" "Chen's case still hasn't been refuted, so it must be true."

Rumors flies of Chinese city residents facing difficulties withdrawing money from banks

After banks in rural areas in Henan were suspected of financial improprieties, rumors had been spreading online of bank account holders in multiple prefectural cities and municipalities in China being faced with difficulties when withdrawing money from their bank accounts.

Some bank account holders were even only informed of the ¥1000 RMB daily withdrawal limit when they arrived at their bank.

Affected cities seemed to include #Shenzhen, #Shanghai, #Dandong and #Foshan, among others. Videos had emerged online of elderly people lining up outside the bank waiting to withdraw their money in Shanghai. However, as only 40 people could withdraw their money per day, some elderly people began lining up since two in the morning.

Lines were present outside many banks in affected cities such as Dandong, where customers lined up before the bank opened, and still could not withdraw their money by afternoon. Residents at Dandong claim that this situation had been going on for several weeks, with no signs of improving.

Shanghai protesters, police jostle as anger over China's COVID curbs mounts

SHANGHAI/BEIJING, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Hundreds of demonstrators in Shanghai shouted and jostled with police on Sunday evening as protests over China's stringent COVID restrictions flared for a third day following a deadly apartment fire in the country's far west.

The wave of civil disobedience, which has spread to other cities including Beijing, is unprecedented in mainland China since President Xi Jinping assumed power a decade ago and comes amid mounting frustration over his signature zero-COVID policy.

The fire at a residential high-rise building in the city of Urumqi triggered protests after videos of the incident posted on social media led to accusations that lockdown were a factor in the death toll.

Urumqi officials abruptly held a news conference in the early hours of Saturday to deny COVID measures had hampered escape and rescue. Many of Urumqi's 4 million residents have been under some of the country's longest lockdowns, barred from leaving their homes for as long as 100 days.

On Sunday in Shanghai, police kept a heavy presence on Wulumuqi Road, which is named after Urumqi, and where a candlelight vigil the day before turned into protests.
By evening hundreds of people gathered in the area.

Some jostled with police trying to disperse them. People held up blank sheets of paper as an expression of protest.

One Reuters witness saw at least seven people taken away by police.

URUMQI, BEIJING, WUHAN

On Sunday at Beijing's prestigious Tsinghua University, dozens of people held a peaceful protest against COVID restrictions during which they sang the national anthem, according to images and videos posted on social media.

One student who saw the Tsinghua protest described to Reuters feeling taken aback by the protest at one China's most elite universities, and Xi's alma mater.

"People there were very passionate, the sight of it was impressive," the student said, declining to be named given the sensitivity of the matter.

In the central city of Wuhan, where the pandemic began three years ago, hundreds of residents took to the streets on Sunday, smashing through metal barricades, overturning COVID testing tents and demanding an end to lockdowns, according to videos on social media that could not be independently verified.

Thursday's fire that killed 10 people in an apartment block in Urumqi, capital of the Xinjiang region, saw crowds there take to the street on Friday evening, chanting "End the lockdown!" and pumping their fists in the air, according to unverified videos on social media.

Protests has erupted in multiple cities across China, including Urumqi, Shanghai, and Wuhan.

Some protesters even chanted "CCP, step down" and "Xi Jinping, step down". Others recited the slogans from Beijing's lone protester at Sitong Bridge last month:

No lies, we want dignity
No cultural revolution, we want reforms
No dictator, we want the vote
No more being slaves, we are citizens

Videos and photos of the protests are shared by liberal Chinese netizens. Some had hashtagged their posts with "Liberate China, Revolution of Our Times".

Some protesters were seen holding up blank sheets of A4 paper, devoid of any slogans. Some had written messages on theirs: "What's so scary about blank paper?" "I'm a Chinese youth, not foreign powers".

Shanghai police has reportedly begun arresting protesters on the streets. The crowds responded with resistance as they retreated.

On the Clubhouse platform, protesters hosted a live feed to show the situation around them. They urged their audience to share their message, just as Iranian protesters did, so that the world can see their efforts.

Nearly a thousand people watched the live feed, some leaving comments that they should emulate Hong Kong protesters' "#BeWater" tactics to avoid casualties. Others predicted Shanghai will be under a heavy curfew by tomorrow. One commenter shared a Mandarin version of Hong Kong's protest anthem "#GloryToHongKong".

One of the hosts said that the most precious lesson she learned from the Hong Kong protests is "#DoNotSplit". She called on other protesters not to criticize each other, but instead respect each other's decisions.

Chinese Students Hold Posters and Flowers on HKU Campus;
Police arrived to record their personal information

According to the #UnderGrad, an official publication of #HKUSU, there were at least 2 #Chinese students holding leaflets and flowers at the university on 27 Nov to mourn the victims of the #Xinjiang #Urumqi fire. Police arrived after the university reported the incident; officers recorded personal information of the students involved before leaving.

A fire broke out in a residential building in Xinjiang Urumqi on the evening of 24 Nov. It is said that at least 20 people were killed, including many children. The youngest deceased was only aged 3.

On Chinese social media, many questioned whether the #lockdown measures obstructed the rescue. Some fire trucks were suspected to be unable to approach the fire. A few video clips also showed workers in white PPE appeared to be breaking down fences and barricades.

Since the accident, mourning activities sprang up in many cities across China. Institutions like #CommunicationUniversityofChina and #BeijingUniversity appeared to have opposition movements. #TsinghuaUniversity students gathered and raised a piece of white paper to protest. In #Shanghai, groups of people were even chanting slogan, "Let the people go".
