Hong Kong Police Stained the Kowloon Mosque Blue

On October 20, police shot blue-dye water cannon at the Mosque, staining the structure blue.

U.S. Senator Josh Hawley Supports Hong Kong

Watch the clip.
On October 23,  U.S. Senator Josh Hawley delivered a speech on the Senate floor in support of the people of Hong Kong as they stand up against Beijing’s oppression.

"As we gather today here in peace and safety in this quiet chamber, we must remember that there is a city half a world away that is struggling to survive. A city that is fighting for human rights and human liberty. A city that is a solitary pinpoint of light on a continent of authoritarianism. A city called Hong Kong. The need there is urgent and the hour there is late and it is time for America to act.

And I know this because I've been there. I've been there myself. I have seen it, Mr. President. I have been to Hong Kong. I have been to the streets of Hong Kong. I have seen the protesters marching in support of, in defense of their basic human rights. I have seen them demonstrating for their basic human liberties. I have seen them confronting the police with their tactics of brutality and oppression."

Would FIFA Catch the Next Firestorm for Disregarding China's Violation of Human Rights Worldwide?

[Editor's Note: Fifa's latest move is not only controversial by disregarding China's violation of human rights and free speech worldwide; but it also means that the joint British and Irish bid would face competition from China to host the 2030 tournament.]

1. "Fifa under fire after announcing China will host 24-team Club World Cup"

//Human rights organisations have condemned Fifa’s decision to stage a revamped version of the Club World Cupin China.

World football’s governing body has confirmed that an expanded version of its showpiece event, featuring 24 teams, will take place there in June and July 2021. The decision was made despite China’s suppression of pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong, and the internment of more than one million Uighur Muslims in the state of Xinjiang.//

2. "China could thwart British and Irish World Cup bid"

//Those in charge of Fifa are understood to be pushing for an Asia nation — specifically China — to be allowed to bid, but that would require Fifa’s council to change its rules on tournament rotation.//

Candle Lights and Christmas Wishes for the 12 Detained Hongkongers

Citizens' Radio hosted a street booth in Causeway Bay on Dec 24, 2020 in support of the 12 pro-democracy Hongkongers detained in China.

"Bull" Tsang Kin-shing (of the League of Social Democrats) invited citizens to sign a large banner at the booth. Citizens wrote down various words of encouragements: "Add oil, hands and feet!" "Hang on!" "Never forget why we started!" Citizens also lit candles, wishing for the quick return of the 12 youths back to Hong Kong.

Police posted 5 or 6 officers nearby to observe the booth, though they had not taken any action against them.

Amidst crackdowns, street booth calls on Hongkongers to never surrender

On September 11, 2021, the Citizen's Radio in Hong Kong hosted a street booth, titled "Resist & Never Surrender".

Organizers of the street booth collected signatures from citizens in support of pro-democracy citizens under persecution, reminding Hongkongers that many have been arrested and detained without trial under the #NationalSecurityLaw, with no clear date of release.

In addition, among the 12 pro-democracy activists arrested last August during their attempt to flee Hong Kong, two are still serving prison sentences in China, while the others 10 are facing further charges in Hong Kong.

#Hongkongers create human chain and cheer “May Glory to Hong Kong” amidst white terror and #CCP grip

In Hong Kong, on New Year's eve (December 31, 2021), many citizens went up to the #LionRock to count down to the year 2022. Among them, some brought neon light signs that read “GLORY HK” and “FREE HK”.

While some citizens on the site were occupied taking pictures, others lighted up their handphones to form a human chain. Just like the pro-democracy “Hong Kong Way” demonstration in 2019, a line of human chain was soon created, displaying the outline of Lion Rock with the light from the mobile phones.

Together Hongkongers counted down and cheered “May glory to Hong Kong” to welcome 2022.

Watch the video:
https://youtu.be/5iBypsfJaL8

On the hilltop, some elderly walked by and uttered words of encouragement to the youngsters, “hang on,” “don’t give up”, while others passed on drinks to them.

Down the hill, some citizens raised laser pointers and pointed towards the hill top to echo and show their support.

[Editors' notes: Inspired by the Baltic human chain in 1989, the “Hong Kong Way” was organized by pro-democracy HongKongers in August 2019 during the #AntiELAB Movement.

The human chain expresses Hongkongers' yearning for freedom and basic human rights. Tens of thousands of Hongkongers lined up on pavements, overpasses, waterfronts and parks, snaking a line of nearly 30 miles (50km) long through Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories.
