After reaching the open world in Atomic Heart I was free to go nearly anywhere and besides dozens of villages with loot and enemies, there are Research Polygons โ€“ dungeons, where you find rare upgrades and solve complex puzzles.

If you are a fan of Portal and Prey โ€“ you will like polygons! They feel geeky and immersive.

Somehow these places are rarely mentioned in reviews, since they are outside of your main quest.
