I never thought I'd say that, but Apple created a cheap and efficient mini PC, capable of gaming. But there's a catch:

— Cheap $599 model is good, but:
1. Don't get more memory or SSD in the configurator, prices are insane = get Pro if you want more, and
2. Be aware that CPU runs at 110°C or more. They prioritized silence (and IMO, it will backfire)
— A better $1399 M4 Pro version (12 CPU cores, 16 GPU cores) or even more expensive one (14 and 20 cores) are way more reliable and usually run at 80-90°C under heavy load. Why? The cooling system of the pro is literally different and so is SSD form factor! They are louder and for this price you'd better get a real PC.

But among mini PCs there's nothing that fast and that good. Blender runs great, DaVinci Resolve is seamless, etc.

Final Fantasy 16 Extremely Underperformed On PC; Sold Only 289K Units Since Launch.

Square Enix now refuses to work on exclusives and will make cross platform releases instead.

Oddly enough, the PC delay was explained as if they are making a better PC port, which wasn't true: the game works badly, has 30 FPS cutscenes, doesn't support wide monitors, and doesn't offer additional content.

Final Fantasy XV has been released with extra fancy stuff, amazing performance, and yes — support for any monitors. And as you may have guessed, back then they sold millions of copies on PC.

STALKER 2 moderators are banning people on Steam for mentioning that their PC system requirements are not showing the right numbers and actually suggest that everyone is using upscaling. It was previously confirmed by the community manager on Discord and…
This is getting out of hand:

An eagle-eyed user online noticed that STALKER 2 system requirements on Steam were updated not long before launch day on November 20th. Previously, the minimum and recommended specs didn’t look too demanding – but that has all changed. Newer and better hardware is now suggested, and that’s even with help from upscaling tech such as DLSS, FSR, and XeSS.

All this happened after moderators banned people on Steam and other platforms. They were banned for asking to clarify the news after NVIDIA and S2 community managers on Discord revealed that DLSS, FSR, or XeSS are required for the game. And that the requirements in NVIDIA posts don't match ones in stores.

UPD: Apparently, they also lifted bans and said that before the release they hired more moderators and the new guy did it without any approval from the senior team.

There's something wrong with modern marketing! Apparently, there's a cool-looking action survival game, a British version of Atomic Heart, hehe, but I never heard of it until right now!

There are more trailers available and the creators were mostly inspired by Fallout: New Vegas in terms of world-building.

It's fairly impressive that despite all the pressure in western media against Wukong, it was nominated for the game of the year!

It's a joke that DLC and remake are also nominated 🤡

The update for PlayStation 5 Pro made a lot of modern games worse. It seems that PSSR (the new upscaler) poorly works with denoisers and completely ignores temporal artifacts. Such artifacts are very common for Unreal Engine games, Lumen lighting and reflections fully rely on effects that can't be rendered at full scale.

The issue is noticeable in games on other engines too: for example, the new Call of Duty is equally noisy and it's made with Infinity Ward's IW9.0 Engine .

Intel declaration said that in late September they delivered several BMG B580 — a second generation desktop graphics, apparently Battlemage B580.

The announcement is expected this December and sales can begin this year. Intel is aiming to compete mostly for the hearts of the low-budget users. Their rumored lineup outside of the flagship 580 is just a branch of cheap models, that will be available earlier than NVIDIA or AMD equivalents.

The original Intel Xe series was a rough start with a very nice improvement later. Cards have become cheap, stable, and best far beyond gaming: their AV1 video support and great acceleration in Blender made them worthy for certain professional users.
