Someone shared this useful website, that reads terms of conditions and grades apps accordingly. (https://tosdr.org/)
Telegram still has a B with one yellow item - that they can update the terms without notifying the users.
But looking up other apps and websites, it seems that the average grade is D-E. π
Quite sad that that's the industry standard. And mainstream media keeps criticizing telegram regularly.

I bought a new phone this year and have been using it for a few months now. It's the Volla Phone 22 - a Google-free Android phone, that focuses on privacy.
It took me some time to set it up (while making new discoveries and learning about new apps) and I believe I have everything I need for now; and am quite happy with it.
πͺ What I instantly noticed was that the phone is quite heavy with 215g and the surface of the back cover is very slippery. I already dropped my phone quite a few times. π©
βΆοΈ No Google play services: I have underestimated how many apps actually need Google play services to run. Of course you'd expect all Google apps to depend on them and I was prepared to live without them.
π¬ However, I didn't expect that the notification system is also part of Google play services. So even though some apps can run normally, but they don't send you notifications if it's not opened and running in the foreground. π Which means I have to regularly open the app to check if I have received new notifications. (Thank god, that there's a Telegram fork, that has removed the google-dependency)
πΊ Obviously, apps that require google maps such as city bike and car rental apps also don't work on my phone. (Youbike's website has up-to-date bike station info that I can use.) For navigation I have to use openstreetmap now and have also started contributing to map edits myself to help keep the map data up-to-date.
π Somehow the GPS signal is also very hard to get with the Volla Phone 22. Even after enabling discovery over Wifi and Bluetooth it took me once 30min or more to get the GPS signal. π
Eventually, I found that by using a GPS tracker app and enabling tracking helps me get a GPS signal faster (~5min).
π΅οΈββοΈ In terms of privacy I am really sure that no google services are running on my phone. π
2οΈβ£ Apps can also not run in the background (without being in my notifications).
3οΈβ£ If apps haven't been used for some time all of their permissions will be stripped from them.
4οΈβ£ It's also very nice to know that when you turn things off (wifi, mobile data, bluetooth, location) they are really off.
π A privacy app, that I discovered through the Volla community is Tracker control. It's an easy way to monitor and disable trackers for all apps installed on your phone. I would recommend this app if you want to see and block trackers for any app. However, be warned that it can also cause apps/websites from working.

π My interest was sparked many years ago when my mom was making yogurt by herself. In Taiwan (2019-ish?) I finally gave it a try and managed to make yogurt from bought yogurt and milk. But the quality would vary a lot and after a few batches it would eventually fail.
π In 2020 my girlfriend got me some kefir grains and a kit (filter and wooden spoon) to make kefir yogurt with as a surprise gift.

π‘ After switching to a google free phone, I found this privacy focused GPS tracker app opentracks. I've been using it for a while now and can only recommend it for people, who like to track outdoor activities. (The version on Play store is only available with a donation. Alternatively, you can get it on F-Droid.)
π The app basically just writes the recorded GPS data on to your phone and doesn't upload it to the internet. In fact you don't need the internet to use it. (It doesn't consume much battery I find.)
πΊ To view the data on a map you can use the OSMDashboard and you need the openstreetmap data downloaded on your phone. (If you haven't got an OSM app I'd recommend the lightweight app OrganicMaps.)
π Of course, you'll have stats like duration, distance and speed; and you can view elevation and speed on a graph.
π You can also add markers during the recording with a little note or picture to record your activity or a certain spot. For example I mark when I take a longer break in the activity, but don't want to stop the recording.
πΌ I've uploaded some of screenshots of my tracks in the comments. π
You can track all kinds of transportation vehicles.

Actually my first Mario game was Super Mario Land on the Gameboy and I still remember the music and gameplay a lot.

I remember I used to bring a loaf to uni when I was living in Scotland. π

After some trail and error I think I have a successful method and it tastes just like home.
Now I bake it every week.

It's been a busy summer. π
Let me share with you a new hobby/habit.
I never used to drink coffee - because I didn't like it much, thought it's not healthy and didn't want to get addicted to it/depend on it.
My wife had a habit of drinking coffee and usually I would just take a sip to taste if I felt like it.
Last year we got a moka pot (brikka) and a bean grinder and started to brew coffee at home. After trying out different beans, we preferred the fruity and acid flavor of light roasts and I started to have a small cup when my wife would have a coffee - which I quite enjoyed.
Only recently, we learned more about brewing coffee (through youtube) and I must say that it's quite fascinating. It's both science and an art / skill and the taste can change quite a bit depending on the beans, your equipment and how you prepare or brew the coffee.
I became the main coffee brewer at home and also share half of the coffee with my wife. π
Regarding our method: We have an induction plate and don't heat up the water first, despite many youtubers recommending it. I heat it on a slow heat to slowly increase the temperature and when it's hot enough (coffee started to brew) I turn off the stove, but keep the pot on the plate to use the remaining heat.
We have it 3-4 times a week and it has become a relaxing and enjoyable habit now.
It also turns out to be cheaper than store bought coffee or coffee from convenience stores. π
