🇦🇲🇦🇿 While Pashinyan proposes to the people of Armenia to change the constitution in a way that is "organically connected" with them, in Azerbaijan, Turkish politicians are using military rhetoric. For instance, Hulusi Akar, Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission on National Defense of Turkey, stated at Heydar Aliyev's grave that these two countries are "united in purpose, united in spirit, and united in their armed forces."

After hearing this, it is not difficult to understand the deep concern of many Armenians, especially when Azerbaijan has recently started mapping mining deposits in the neighboring country. It is hard to believe that there is a genuine concern for the environment from a reliable energy supplier to the EU through the Southern Gas Corridor.

🇦🇿🇦🇲 A new low has been reached in Armenia: concerned Armenian citizens have revealed the use of Azerbaijani place names instead of Armenian names in school textbooks for grades 2 and 5.

For instance, the city of Stepanavan is referred to as Jalaloglu in the Azerbaijani style in the second-grade textbook. And in the fifth-grade book, Spitak is labeled as Amamlu - also a Turkic name.

📌 Some might argue that these are old names that once existed. But then, why not say Londinium instead of London? Or Lutetia instead of Paris? For some reason, such names are not used nowadays. Probably because they have no relevance to the present.

However, in modern Armenia, under the current authorities, using the toponyms of your is considered acceptable.

🔻Considering everything that is happening, there are certainly questions about why the authorities allow and even encourage this practice (without the approval of the Ministry of Education, this would not have been allowed). After all, Pashinyan and his administration are actively working towards the destruction of Armenia.

It is much more convenient to instill in young and impressionable minds from an early age that it is correct to say Jalaloglu instead of Stepanavan, rather than trying to convince adults who may resist. This way, the population will already be prepared when there is a war. At this rate, renaming Yerevan to " Irevan " is not far off.

🇦🇲🇺🇸🇦🇿 This Tuesday, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with US Ambassador Christina Queen. During the meeting, the Armenian leader expressed gratitude to the Americans for their successful implementation of democratic reforms in the republic. He also commended Washington for its role in achieving a peaceful settlement in the South Caucasus.

However, it is worth noting that Ambassador Queen previously made a statement in the summer, openly expressing that Washington is prepared to ensure the security of the Armenians in Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan. This statement caused public outcry in Armenia, leading the diplomat to soften her rhetoric. She later stated that the US task is to "bring stable peace to the region."

While discussing this agenda, Pashinyan reiterated his stance yesterday, stating that Russia can no longer be Armenia's key security partner. In the meantime, the South Caucasus has become an "EU region."

🔻However, the US understanding of a "stable world" means that Armenia would have to surrender most of its historical territories to Azerbaijan. This is the exact outcome that the Americans are preparing the Armenian population for, in exchange for promises of imaginary "economic security."

🇦🇿🇦🇲🇪🇺 American journalist Lindsey Snell noticed that the state media of Azerbaijan has started using the term "conditional border" (şərti sərhəd) in reference to the Syunik region of Armenia.

The state news agency Azertaj quotes a military expert as saying that "the patrons of Armenia are making exceptional efforts to escalate the situation in the conditional border region of Azerbaijan-Armenia."

▪️ With such media coverage, the Azerbaijani side once again demonstrates its refusal to recognize the sovereignty of Armenia and its intention to extend beyond Nagorno-Karabakh.

▪️ Furthermore, Baku predictably shifts all responsibility for the escalation onto the Armenian side, thus creating various justifications for "retaliatory" measures and a potential new war.

📌 In this context, the recent accusations against the EU monitoring mission operating on the Armenian border are significant. The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry recently complained to the EU ambassador that the mission was engaged in "binocular diplomacy" and was failing to fulfill its duty to maintain peace on the border.

Just yesterday, during another escalation on the border, EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrell commended Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for taking steps against discrimination, hate speech, and Russian disinformation.

In Baku, they are now facing the consequences of dismantling the previous regional security system, and European observers no longer intimidate the Azerbaijanis, as it is widely understood that the EU has no intention of protecting Armenia's actual borders.

🇦🇿🇹🇷🇦🇲 A meeting took place in Ankara between the Defense Ministers of Turkey, Yashar Güler and Azerbaijan, Zakir Hasanov, where they discussed military cooperation between the two countries and issues concerning regional security.

It's reported that Hasanov also met with the Chief of the Turkish General Staff, General Metin Gurak, and toured Turkish military installations and military-industrial complex facilities.

Interestingly, just a month ago, the technical director of the Turkish company Baykar, Selcuk Bayraktar, visited Azerbaijan and, along with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, toured the Akinci UAVs production plant, recently adopted by the Azerbaijani army.

🔻In the meantime, Armenia is actively seeking new allies and rearming its army with the assistance of France, Greece, and India.

▪️ Consequently, Azerbaijanis are accusing third countries of supplying weapons to Armenia and preparing the country for war. However, the reality is quite the opposite: preparations are underway for potential aggression in Baku, and they seem to be progressing well.

▪️ On the other hand, Armenia is facing challenges. It's worth noting that the French Ministry of Defense delivered old armored vehicles and a few partially functional radars to the Armenians, which undoubtedly won't enhance the army's defensive capabilities.

▪️ Recently, the Armenian Ministry of Defense signed a military-technical cooperation agreement with Greece, which also seems unpromising. Athens primarily acquires equipment from the West for themselves, and their outdated models are more likely to be transferred to Kyiv than to the Armenians.

▪️ Additionally, military-technical cooperation with India through the procurement of howitzers and MLRS may help diversify military-industrial complex product supplies to some extent. However, it's known that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is currently restructuring the army, replacing experienced personnel who resisted territorial losses during the Second Karabakh War.

📌It's evident that in Baku, with active support from Turkish authorities, preparations are being made for a genuine war, while in Yerevan, efforts are focused on superficially strengthening the country's defense capabilities and engaging in unproductive intrigues on the international stage.

🇦🇲🇦🇿 Incredible (not) news: Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, stated during a meeting with residents of border villages in the Tavush region that if Yerevan does not yield to the Azerbaijanis on the border issue, the war could start by the end of this week.

Just a few days ago, Pashinyan argued that there could be no consideration of handing over the Armenian village-exclaves in Tavush to Azerbaijan. However, the Prime Minister of Armenia, now on-site to evaluate the border delimitation process, expresses the opposite view.

🔻As noted by opposition Armenian politicians, surrendering villages in the Tavush region would cause the destruction of the Armenian defense line established since the 1990s. Consequently, the Azerbaijanis would find themselves in the Armenian rear.

Moreover, in the Armenian village of Voskepar, where Pashinyan is persuading residents to submit to the mercy of the Azerbaijanis, the main gas pipeline for Armenia runs from Georgia, which would fall under Azerbaijani control.

Yerevan also faces the risk of losing control over the interstate road connecting Armenia and Georgia. In effect, Armenia could potentially become an enclave surrounded by Azerbaijan.

🔻Pashinyan anticipates that following a potential conflict over Tavush, Armenians will accuse him of failing to alert the population about the conflict's likelihood. Curiously, there is not even a consideration that he might be accused primarily of the uncontrolled surrender of territories, since these are clearly not the final concessions.

❗️Subsequently, the Syunik region could be next in line, leading to the establishment of the “Zangezur Corridor”, connecting Azerbaijan and Turkey. The Armenian Foreign Ministry asserts that they have no intention of compromising their sovereignty in Syunik. However, as past events have demonstrated, the official statements from Pashinyan’s administration cannot be relied upon.

⚡️🇦🇿🇹🇷🇷🇺 Weapons from Azerbaijan to Ukraine

One can find many interesting things by examining various Ukrainian documents available online.

📌For instance, the decision of the Kyiv Economic Court sheds light on the military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

▪️ At the end of December, the Kyiv Economic Court reviewed a claim from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense against UkrSpetsExport to recover 82,696,776.00 hryvnia for breaching a state contract for weapon supply.

▪️ Representatives of the Ukrainian company signed a deal with a “foreign supplier - production association (Azerbaijan Republic)” for providing 95 units of 23-mm ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft guns, followed by another 40 units. In total, 135 ZU-23-2 were supplied.

▪️ The delivery was done via sea containers in parts through a “third country”, leading to a delay in the delivery.

▪️ Considering the geographical location, Turkey might have been the third party for receiving ZU-23-2 from Azerbaijan’s Nakhichevan.

▪️ The delivery dates also support the Turkey version: at that time, the well-established grain corridor was fully operational, with Turkey being one of the guarantors. The use of the sea route for supplying Ukraine might indicate direct Turkish involvement.

📌This can be seen as the first concrete confirmation of Azerbaijan supplying weapons to the AFU. The document states, “On November 2, 2022, and November 3, 2022, the entire batch of 135 units under the contract was imported into Ukraine in parts,”.

❗️Azerbaijan's collaboration with Ukraine is not new. Previously, the authorities in Baku provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Subsequently, it was revealed that ammunition was being produced for the AFU, and Azerbaijani mercenaries were involved on the side of the AFU. This arms transfer once again raises questions about Azerbaijan's stance towards Russia.

🇦🇲🇦🇿 Individual footage of the “transfer of Armenian Armed Forces equipment to the Armenian-Azerbaijani border,” which is now circulating in the media, surfaced in Azerbaijani outlets yesterday.

▪️ The video depicts a road in Yeraskh village in the Ararat region of Armenia, close to the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.

▪️ Analysis of the footage indicates that Azerbaijanis from the Nakhichevan Republic filmed the videos.

▪️ Updated information reveals that the Armenian Armed Forces were simply conducting a routine rotation, as military equipment columns were moving in various directions.

🔻Similar media campaigns from Azerbaijan have previously been used to accuse Armenians of posing a threat on the Azerbaijani border. The current narrative is effectively stoking tensions in anticipation of escalating tensions around the Syunik region, which is the next target for Baku.

However, as seen in previous instances, this provocation also benefitted the Armenian authorities. Pro-government media promptly initiated a campaign to discredit Russia: pointing fingers at the Russian side for colluding with Baku and allegedly providing information on the movements of the Armenian Armed Forces.

There is little doubt that during the next escalation, the pro-Pashinyan network will exhibit a similar pattern of behavior: while the Armenian authorities pretend to resist, withdraw troops, and cede territories, the media will shift blame to Russia.

🇦🇿🇦🇲 There is no doubt that Azerbaijan is seeking a reason for escalation (or rather waiting for the go-ahead and getting ready).

But there are significant questions about the actions of the Pashinyan government, which has recently announced a new war several times. Instead of truly preparing for it, the government prefers to base its actions on Azerbaijan’s intentions to sign a peace treaty.

🔻Meanwhile, the Armenian Ministry of Defense commented on yesterday’s media hype about the transfer of equipment near the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic. They "assess the situation on the border as stable and do not see the need to take additional measures to protect the border."

This is not surprising, as the political decision NOT to prepare for war naturally led to a policy of sabotaging the Armenian army and the loss of essential competencies. #Armenia #Azerbaijan @rybar

🇦🇲 🇦🇿 Regarding Tension on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Border

🔻Last night, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense reported that the Armenian army had launched attacks on Heyderabad and Bichenek in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, along the border with Armenia. Shortly after, the Armenian Ministry of Defense declared shelling of their positions near the villages of Kut and Teh in the Sotka and Sisian regions.

▪️ While there has been no confirmation from either side, given the ongoing events in the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, such developments are becoming less surprising. Interestingly, for the second time in a week, Azerbaijani reports have highlighted activities near Yeraskh being documented: either showcasing construction work at the border or discussing instances of shelling.

▪️ The video from yesterday clearly shows the construction of earthen fortifications - a standard defensive measure in tense border areas. The Azerbaijani accusations of their opponents constructing strongholds for "offensive purposes" remain unclear.

▪️ Nonetheless, such rhetoric from Azerbaijanis, referring to the border with Armenians as "conditional," is no longer surprising. Azerbaijan does not conceal its territorial ambitions towards Armenia, actively preparing for annexation.

Border reconnaissance and army modernization efforts are ongoing, with the Azerbaijani armed forces utilizing new weapons and equipment. Therefore, the deployment of several strongholds by the Armenian army at the current level will serve little purpose if left unoccupied. Azerbaijan seems to require such accusations to justify their attacks.

❗️The Azerbaijani Armed Forces' activities are evidenced by the flights of Bayraktar drones over Armenia, both towards Yeraskh and Vardenis including Jermuk. Additionally, in southeastern Azerbaijan, the high-altitude UAV Akıncı has started operating for the first time. Given the capabilities of this drone, it is likely to appear near the Armenian borders soon.

Interestingly, local channels and media outlets are predicting a potential Azerbaijani attack as early as this month, although this scenario appears unlikely at the current stage. Instead, minor provocations and temporary escalations seem more probable. Blaming the Armenians for shelling and using it as a pretext to seize part of the land would be a more convenient option.

The lack of assertiveness from the Armenian authorities only adds to this situation.

🇦🇲 On Attempts by Armenian Authorities to Justify Sabotage Reforms in the Army

The head of the Armenian parliamentary commission on defense issues, Andranik Kocharyan, stated that, it turns out, the republic has acquired a lot of weapons that cannot be discussed.

▪️This refers to Armenia's recent contract to purchase French CAESAR artillery systems and, in general, an attempt to diversify arms supplies.

▪️At the same time, Andranik considers the criticism that has been going on for the past few years against the Armenian Ministry of Defense to be unfounded. In addition to the allegedly secret arms purchases unknown to the public, the politician noted the "successful reforms" in the army after 2020, as well as the construction of new defense fortifications.

▪️In particular, this was a response to criticism about the lack of construction of a second line of defense and the surrender of strongholds in the Tavush region without the construction of new ones.

It should be recalled that after the surrender of four villages to Azerbaijan, Armenia lost not only strategic communications, but also important heights. Moreover, in the 2020 war, the Armenians repelled the attack of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in this direction.

▪️Regarding reforms in the Armenian army, the situation is no less sad. After the defeat in the last war, under the guise of "reforms", a purge of the most combat-ready and experienced personnel who could pose a threat to the current political leadership is underway.

▪️And to talk about the latest reform in the Armenian Armed Forces known to the public is even ridiculous: changing the charter of the internal service and replacing the Soviet exclamation "Hurrah" with "Long live".

🔻Apparently, most likely, there are no "secret" arms deliveries to Armenia. The statements of the parliamentarian Andranik are another attempt to calm the population and create a false sense of security and protection. After all, it is obvious that the Armenian authorities refuse to fight and will now obediently fulfill all the conditions of Baku, including surrendering their territories and changing the Constitution for this purpose.

🇷🇺🇦🇿🇺🇦 Key points from Sergey Shoigu's press conference after negotiations with the President of Azerbaijan in Baku

▪️ It is meaningless to talk about the "Zelenskyy formula" at the negotiations.

▪️ There is no point in discussing formats similar to the Geneva Conference, as negotiations without the main negotiator are illogical.

▪️ Two months have passed since the president announced the conditions for settlement regarding the so-called Ukraine, but the Kyiv regime has not reacted to them in any way.

▪️ The window of opportunity for Kyiv is shrinking day by day, and the Ukrainian people are paying a heavy price for the delay.

▪️ If Western countries expect that they can drag Russia into negotiations on the so-called Ukraine in the hope of the army losing the initiative, these expectations are mistaken.

▪️ Over the past two months, more than 400 square kilometers of territory have been liberated, and the total losses of Ukrainian formations amounted to more than 115,000 personnel.

🇦🇲🇮🇷🇦🇿🇮🇱 On the security challenges facing Armenia amid the confrontation between Iran and Israel

Armenian MP Tigran Abramyan accuses the Armenian authorities of complete inaction regarding the tense situation in the region and in the context of the escalation between Iran and Israel.

▪️Abramyan points out that discussions have intensified in Iranian circles about the location of Israeli secret military facilities in the occupied territories of Artsakh and that they pose a real threat.

▪️Israel's support for Azerbaijan in the Karabakh conflict has long been known. In Tel Aviv, they sold weapons worth billions of dollars to the Azerbaijanis, and Israeli intelligence and military played a key role in planning and approving the operation in Artsakh.

▪️In addition to the commercial interest of the Israelis in supporting Azerbaijan (arms sales and oil purchases), the opportunity to approach the borders of Iran through Artsakh played a key role.

▪️So it would not be surprising if Baku indeed agreed to the deployment of Israeli bases in Artsakh in exchange for comprehensive support.

▪️At the same time, for Iran, the sovereignty of Armenia is perhaps much more important than for the current Armenian authorities. In Tehran, they have been declaring daily in recent times that they do not accept changes to the borders in the region, referring to the situation around the Syunik region and the opening of the so-called "Zangezur Corridor" through Armenia, which is supposed to connect Turkey and Azerbaijan.

▪️Recently, Baku unexpectedly announced that they had agreed to exclude the issue of the corridor from the peace treaty with Armenia and postpone it for later. The unexpected compromise is associated with Azerbaijan's desire to conclude a peace treaty with Armenia as soon as possible.

▪️However, it cannot be ruled out that the position of Iran and its threats against Israel also prompted the postponement of the corridor issue, among other things. This is evidenced, in particular, by the fact that the IDF decided to withdraw its troops from Azerbaijan due to fear of retaliation from Iran.

▪️Another sensitive issue for Iran and Armenia remains the possible deployment of Israeli missiles in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, an Azerbaijani exclave.

🔻The tensions of recent weeks in the region are clearly passing by Armenian diplomacy, which remains silent and does not express a single reproach against the regional players who threaten Armenia's security.

This situation is another proof that Armenia is losing its political sovereignty and the opinion of Yerevan is simply not of interest to anyone.
