Israel required by law to reveal the fate of dozens of women arrested in Gaza, intl. community must investigate images and claims of torture, harassment | EuroMed HR Monitor

Geneva – Israel is obligated to disclose the whereabouts of the nearly 3,000 Palestinian #civilians—including #children as well as dozens of women—it has kidnapped from homes and shelter centres, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said in a statement urging the international community to put pressure on Israel to end its policy of enforced #disappearance.

According to information received by Euro-Med Monitor, over the past few days the Israeli army has been detaining hundreds of Palestinians in the #SheikhRadwan neighbourhood in Gaza City. 🇵🇸 Over 1,000 children in Gaza have limbs amputated, Unicef says | Middle East Eye –

More than 1,000 children in Gaza have had one or more limbs amputated since the Israeli onslaught on the besieged area began on 7 October, with many undergoing the procedure without anaesthetic, the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) revealed last week.

James Elder, a Unicef spokesperson, who recently returned from the besieged enclave, reported that the few remaining hospitals in Gaza are overwhelmed with children and their parents, all of whom are bearing “the ghastly wounds of war”. He said that many of them were child amputees.

“Not only were they amputated without anaesthesia, but many of them were amputated in a very quick fashion,” Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund (#PCRF) founder Steve Sosebee said in an interview.

🇵🇸 Let Gaza's children laugh again | The Electronic Intifada –

Gaza’s classrooms were once filled by 625,000 schoolchildren.

The laughter of these children has been silenced and replaced by the deafening roar of airstrikes.

Israeli violence denies Gaza’s children the basic right to education.Nedaa Zaki, an English-language teacher, mourns not only the loss of classrooms but the irreparable damage to dreams. “Before, their greatest wish was to get a perfect score in their tests. Now, they think about how to survive death and displacement.”

🇵🇸 Palestinian children face unknown fate after being kidnapped from Gaza by Israeli army | EuroMed HR Monitor

Geneva - The Israeli army has abducted Palestinian children and transferred them out of the Gaza Strip, Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said, as part of its genocide against Gazans that has been ongoing since 7 October. The rights group called on Israel to return the children to their parents.

In light of the horrific crime of kidnapping children, as well as the recent mysterious disappearance of hundreds of Palestinian detainees from the Strip, Euro-Med Monitor stressed that the international community must bear its responsibilities and apply pressure to Israel in order to ensure the safe return of all victims.

🇵🇸 UNICEF says malnutrition and disease threatening more than 1.1m children in Gaza

Israel's war on Gaza has created a humanitarian catastrophe. UN agencies are warning that half of Gaza's 2 point 3 million population is at risk of starvation. Tanya Haj Hassan, a pediatrician with Doctors Without Borders, says the war is killing more than 100 children each day, and that many more will suffer from life-long disabilities and health issues.

🇵🇸 177 School Buses | Visualizing Palestine

DESCRIPTION

As of today, more than 9,600 Palestinian children in Gaza have been killed by the Israeli genocidal assault on the besieged population. Thousands more are missing and presumed dead. Gaza has been described as a “graveyard for children” by UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

#MassKillings are the tip of the iceberg of Israeli violations against Gaza's children. The vast majority are currently displaced. Most face severe #hunger, with #malnutrition posing lifelong developmental risks for young children. There are 71,000 cases of diarrhea in children under 5 in Gaza, which can cause dehydration and death. #UNICEF reported that around 1,000 #children in #Gaza have lost one or both legs. Thousands have lost one or both #parents.

🇵🇸 We Volunteered at a Gaza Hospital. What We Saw Was Unspeakable. | POLITICO

In the United States we would never dream of operating on anyone without consent, let alone a malnourished and barely conscious 9-year-old girl in septic shock. Nevertheless, when we saw Juri, that’s exactly what we did.

The two of us are humanitarian surgeons. Together, in our combined 57 years of volunteering, we’ve worked on more than 40 surgical missions in developing countries on four continents. We’re used to working in disaster and war zones, of being on intimate terms with death and carnage and despair.

None of that prepared us for what we saw in Gaza this spring.

In recent statements, #UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini revealed that the number of children killed by Israel in Gaza in just over four months surpasses the total number of children killed worldwide in four years.

Eight months ago, just two months into the ongoing Israeli genocide, a World Health Organization official reported that an average of one Palestinian child was killed every 10 minutes in Gaza, describing the war as "humanity’s darkest hour."
