According to insiders close to Abiy Ahmed and the crew, Abiy has sent his children to Switzerland weeks ago. Yesterday, his wife, Zinash, followed suit.
If this information is true--and I believe it is, considering the person it came from--it indicates that Abiy Ahmed is possibly considering an exit (at least for his family).

According to the Ethiopian constitution, crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, etc, are not barred by a statute of limitation. Nor are they to be commuted by amnesty or pardon.
And according to the 2005 Revised Criminal Code of Ethiopia, genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, crime against international law and humanitarian institutions, pillaging, high treason, etc, are all culpable.
That's why we say that we don't even need an international forum or institution to prosecute the perpetrators of the atrocities committed by Abiy's regime.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed pledged on Wednesday to bury his government's enemies "with our blood" as he marked the start of the war in the Tigray region one year ago.
The safety and security of the political prisoners (both of the newly "released" and the ones not released) is still a concern. The Oromo public should keep an eye on developments. So should the international community.

The (Peace and) Reconciliation Commission that has been waging war over the last couple of years has now become irrelevant. Legally speaking, it never was. Good riddance to the “commission” as such, but these individuals will be answerable for the crimes and atrocities they encouraged as part of the larger infrastructure of war-mongering institutions we have seen under #Abiy_Ahmed.
If, every time there is an allegation that an egregious crime is committed, only one party(namely the government) resists independent investigation, it is only reasonable to assume that this body is the perpetrator. Why fear investigation if your hand is clean? Why fear accountability?

These are people who fled their villages/towns because of want and starvation. They say they came from Eastern Harargee Zone (and one of them says she is from Fadis). What caused this? Reports indicate that after their chat farms are sold to mega chat traders of the OPP (and after household chat sale is virtually banned), people are now exposed to famine. Those who can are fleeing in all directions, some to Jijjiga, others to Dirre-Dhawaa, and yet others to the neighbouring highlands of Western Harargee Zone.
While recognising that the imperative of supporting the people is paramount, we cannot ignore the responsibility of #Abiy_Ahmed’s regime for causing this crisis.
