The genocidal attacks by #Faanno and the ANRS was a pattern that long preceded the wars on Tigray and Oromia. The barbarous massacre of Qemant civilians, the denial of burial to the dead; the burning of Qemant houses with families inside; the ethnic profiling at checkpoints and the brutal execution of Qemant persons on the spot; the looting and vandalising of Qemant villages; inflicting many more unspeakable horrors; and blaming the victim (calling them “Shanee” and/or “wayyaanee” was only the foretaste of what was to come later—and what is still happening in Oromia today. From the very start, it was part of #Abiy’s genocidal war on the other peoples of Ethiopia. We will chronicle and archive their crimes. We will name them for what they are. We will identify the perpetrators and shall call them out. Above all, we shall remember. We shall not forget it. Nor shall we forgive the perpetrators. Never!
