First year without 7.1 protest; Pro-democracy Trade Union sets up street booth in Wan Chai

In the past years, pro-democracy demostrations were always held in Hong Kong on July 1, with themes concerning different social and political issues.

This tradition is halted this year as police banned the demostration applied by various organisations.

Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Union (#HKCTU)set up street booth in Wan Chai today, with banners "live in the reality" hung up high.

Paintings and publications that encourage HongKongers to resist and persist were seen as well.

Police was deployed around the booth, stopping and searching young people wearing black.

Members of the organisation prepared leaflets to be distributed, but were surrounded by a large group of police. The police demanded all citizens on site to leave, otherwise they would be fined for violation of the 599G gathering ban.

At around 1700, three core members of Student Politicism and one volunteer were arrested, including the convenor #WongYatChin.
