Several Countries Report Incorrect Results From China's COVID-19 Test Kits; Beijing: Chinese Test Kits are of Good Quality

The Philippines' health ministry announced on 28 March that the COVID-19 test kits sent by China were only "40 percent accurate" based on standards of the World Health Organization. China has sent 100,000 test kits to the Philippines, calling it an "anti-epidemic diplomacy". Department of Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire of the Philippines said in a press conference on March 28 that the test kits from China would not be used, due to their low accuracy. Other test kits sent by various countries and groups were deemed accurate.

The Chinese Embassy in the Philippines insisted that the test kits supplied by China were up to WHO's standards. The Embassy condemned "those who try to intervene the anti-epidemic measures upheld by China and the Philipines". They also criticized the reports about China's low-quality test kits as "unscientific", "irresponsible" and "untrue".

Spain encountered a similar problem, after buying COVID-19 test kits from a Chinese firm, Shenzhen Bioeasy. The kits are found to be 30% accurate, much lower than the 80% accuracy claimed by the company.

The health authorities in Spain said it would withdraw the kits and return 9,000 kits to the company in China.

Other countries like the Czech Republic and Malaysia have also reported that the test kits they purchased from China provided incorrect test results.

Instagram Classified 831 Incident Video as "False Information" Identified by Independent Third Party Fact Checker (1)

Recently, a 3-minute long video footage was posted on Instagram showing the 831 incident when the STS and riot police stormed into Prince Edward Station, subduing and beating citizens indiscriminately which resulted in numbers of injured citizens. Shortly after, Instagram marked the post as "false information" verified a third-party fact checker. Viewers could not view the video unless they click "See post".

According to Instagram, it was the fact checking company they worked with, Boom Live, who identified the post as "false information". After clicking "See why", a message "FALSE: चीन में संदिग्ध कोविड -19 मरीज़ों पर पुलिस की कार्यवाही दिखाने वाला वीडियो फ़र्ज़ी है" popped up. After translating the message, it is believed that Boom Live thought the police were attacking alleged COVID-19 patients in the video.

Through further investigation, it was found that this video has been circulating in India and was said to be a video about Chinese government arresting citizens that might have COVID-19. Because it was thought to be related to COVID-19, the video was marked as false information when it was linked to protests in Hong Kong.

Nathan Law, member of the Demosistō committee, thought that the independent third-party fact checker marked the video as false information based on only a single article. He then quoted an article showing a post on Twitter relating the video to COVID-19, the company then rectified that it was about the protest in Hong Kong, and marked the post as "Fake News". Law also expressed his worry that the protests in Hong Kong might be affected negatively and the truth might be concealed if the CPR starts linking fake information to videos showing the police's false acts.

Chinese markets are still selling bats and slaughtering rabbits on blood-soaked floors as Beijing celebrates 'victory' over the coronavirus

"As the pandemic that began in Wuhan forced countries worldwide to go into lockdown ...thousands of customers flocked to a sprawling indoor market in Guilin, south-west China. Here cages of different species were piled on top of each other.

In another meat market in Dongguan, southern China...a medicine seller returning to business with a billboard advertising bats – thought to be the cause of the initial Wuhan outbreak – along with scorpions and other creatures.

The shocking scenes came as China finally lifted a weekslong nationwide lockdown and encouraged people to go back to normal daily life to boost the flagging economy. Official statistics indicated there were virtually no new infections.

The market in Guilin was packed with shoppers yesterday, with fresh dog and cat meat on offer..."

US Condemned CCP's Sanctions on the US and Canadian Officials and Organisations: Beijing Tried to Intimidate to Silence the International Society

The sanctions between China, Europe and the US due to Xinjiang human rights issues become more intense. Ministry of Foreign Affairs in China announced the sanction to two American religious people and two Canadian representatives. US Secretary of State Antony John Blinken replied that Beijing's behaviours were aiming to silence all people who spoke for basic human rights and freedom, reiterating that the US, Canada and the European Union would not withdraw.

The statement of Blinken condemned that the CCP's sanction on the two American The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom(USCIRF) officials was not reasonable, obviously revenging US sanctions on Chinese officials due to Xinjiang serious violation of human rights.

Blinken stated that Beijing used intimidation to attempt to silence the international violation of basic human rights and freedoms and genocide in Xinjiang. He emphasised that the US, Canada, the EU and the global alliances will stand together, claim to Beijing for stopping the violation of targeting minorities and dissidents, and release the people who have been randomly arrested.

One of the Sanctioned People: Proud to be Sanctioned due to Speaking Out for Hong Kong and Xinjiang

The sanctions between China, Europe and United Stated have not come to an end due to Xinjiang human rights issues. Ministry of Foreign Affairs in China announced to sanction three people and an organisation in the US and Canada last night (27th March). Canada President Trudeau responded to the sanction that it was an “unacceptable behaviour”. A Canadian Federal Representative, who has been sanctioned, Michael David Chong, indicated that he has a responsibility to speak out for Hong Kong and Uyghurs.

The father of Michael David Ching came from Hong Kong, and he also can speak Cantonese. He said, “We, the people who live in the free places with democracy and the rule of law, must speak out for silent. If this means China will sanction me, I will take it as an honour”.

British Law Firm Being Sanctioned and Responded on China's Stupidity: Independent Practitioners Can Have Different Views as Clients and Colleagues

Ministry of Foreign Affairs in China announced to sanction nine personnel and four entities, including British Essex Court Chambers. The chair of the Bar Human Rights Committee and Head of Cloisters Human Rights Practice Group, Schona Jolly, described the sanctions from China are “maladroit”, as lawyers are work in the same office but are all independent and might not agree with the views of clients and colleagues. She reiterated that China should accept the independent investigation by the international society on Xinjiang human rights problems instead of engaging “the diplomatic tactics”.

Schona Jolly also indicated that according to The Basic Principles on the Role of Lawyers defined by the United Nations, lawyers' professional work should not be intimidated by sanctions and should not be implicated by clients. She stated that the sanctions to the whole lawyer office from China are “maladroit” as they work at the same office but are independent and self-employed practitioners, not necessarily sharing their professional points of views with other colleagues and clients. China sanctions the whole structure (i.e. the whole office) will only reflect their misunderstanding on the British law professional operations and the independence of lawyers.

Kneeling after Being Sanctioned by China; the British Law Firm Website Removed Xinjiang's Genocide Comments

Four barristers from Essex Court Chambers in England London released a legal opinion document, which described that the Chinese government is doing “genocide” in Xinjiang. Thus, the whole firm was being listed into the sanction list of China. According to Financial Times, the firm recently released a statement for “cutting ties”, saying that those legal opinions are not related to other firm members and has already removed the related document on their official website.

The related legal opinion document was distributed to non-profit organisations by the four lawyers in London. It described the actions that the Chinese government did in Xinjiang, involving the crimes of humanity and genocide. Right after that, the firm was being sanctioned by China.
