Hot take: I hate new Blender 4.2 approach to extensions β€” they are always online and without filtering to see what is official and what is from 3RD parties.

The new cloud-based library works slowly and don't work at all with even a little unstable internet connection. And dozens of addons are only accessible from this library now. I want offline addons back.

They managed to put Bool Tools and Loop Tools into their cloud storage β€” things that huge portion of users need to efficiently model things. And if your internet isn't perfect, you can't download them.

Here is a Free 4K UV Mapping Texture (10Γ—10 and 8Γ—8 variants)

The texture has soft gradient which makes working with it easier for your eyes even for hours in a row. I've tried to balance out the amount of color on the final image to preserve visibility of geometry details and issues that can be missed on pure gray or too vivid UV textures.

Amazing study of The Witcher 3 environment art: tons of triangles (so don't be quad perfectionist for static meshes), tons of hidden geometry, meshes that could be textures, and more.

But still used wisely with intent, not just from a point of laziness β€” they bring a lot of volume to the world, allow better lighting to be used, etc.
