Acceptance of AMAP’s Recommendations

🚲 The Government has accepted the Active Mobility Advisory Panel’s (#AMAP) recommendation to mandate that all bicycles should have brakes when used on public paths and roads. This will help improve safety for both riders and path users. #SafetyFirst

We will study the implementation details and update in due course. #StayTuned

#ICYMI The upcoming North-South Corridor (#NSC) will not only facilitate smoother journeys via its tunnel and viaduct - it will also transform its surrounding streetscape. With the NSC, the surface streets will have less traffic, and more space will be put aside for walking, cycling, buses and recreation. 🚌🚴🏽‍♀️🚶🏻🌳

#ComingUp Together with the National Parks Board, we will be collaborating with the community and various interest groups through a series of engagements to see how we can enhance these surface streets.🏡

👀 Check out a photo 📸 from our first engagement session today! #StayTuned There’ll be more such sessions to come and we invite all stakeholders to share your views and ideas for enhancing the streets along NSC! 🤝🏼

👋Come meet our Touchless Push Buttons that use *microwave-based* sensors to activate the Green Man at 4️⃣ of our pedestrian crossings! 🚦

🚶‍♀🏫 Located at crossings with high pedestrian traffic throughout the day (i.e. near key amenities like schools), these new microwave-based pedestrian sensors will be progressively rolled out and trialled for the next six months.

Check out the last frame to find out their locations and just wave your hands over the sensors to activate the Green Man! 👋

#DidYouKnow We also trialled infrared sensors to activate the Green Man at another 4️⃣ of our pedestrian crossings last year. We’ll be assessing the performance of these two types of sensors before finalising future plans. #StayTuned
#HandsUp 🙋‍♂️ if you often commute by taxis or take ride-hail services! 🚗 🚕

#PSA 📢 We’ll be reviewing the Point-to-Point (#P2P) regulatory framework to ensure it evolves in tandem with changing commuter needs and stays relevant in today’s context.

We’ll be reviewing with three goals in mind:

📈 Improving the availability of P2P services throughout the day

💪 Enhancing the resilience of P2P services so that operators can provide such services with minimal disruptions and downtime

❤️ Catering to the additional needs of commuter groups with mobility needs 🦽 👪

We’ve already started talking to our tripartite partners. i.e operators and industry associations about this review. Other areas of discussion include the adoption of cleaner-energy P2P vehicles 🌱🔌🚘 and how we encourage more gracious behaviour between drivers and commuters.

#StayTuned as we’ll also be reaching out to various commuter groups to gather different views as part of this review which is expected to complete in 2Q 2024!
