Acceptance of AMAP’s Recommendations

🚲 The Government has accepted the Active Mobility Advisory Panel’s (#AMAP) recommendation to mandate that all bicycles should have brakes when used on public paths and roads. This will help improve safety for both riders and path users. #SafetyFirst

We will study the implementation details and update in due course. #StayTuned
Action taken against workshop involved in illegal modification

🚗🏍 #PSA Beyond committing a serious offence, car owners with illegal modifications increase the safety risks to themselves and other road users. They may also cause public disturbance with exhaust modifications that create excessive noise.

Action will be taken against both vehicle owners and workshops involved in illegal modifications.

Workshops or individuals who illegally modify or use modified vehicles can be fined up to $5,000 and/or be sentenced to a jail term of up to three months, or both. The penalties for repeat offenders are doubled. #SafetyFirst #WeMeanBusiness
