#PSA We’ve awarded two contracts for the Jurong Region Line (#JRL)! 🚆

1️⃣ The contract for the design and construction of the final station along JRL (JW5 station located in NTU) and its associated viaducts has been awarded to Hwa Seng Builder Pte Ltd. An experienced local builder, they’re currently constructing two other JRL stations – JW3 and JW4 – which are also located within NTU. 🚧 Construction works for JW5 station is expected to start in 3Q 2022 and complete in 2029. With the award of this contract, all civil works contracts for JRL have been awarded. 👏

2️⃣ The second contract is to provide the JRL’s power supply system ⚡️ and it has been awarded to Siemens Mobility Pte Ltd / Concord Corporation Pte Ltd Consortium. They have strong track record in this area, having completed the power supply system on the #DTL and they are working on the power supply system on #CCL6 and #NELe as well.

#PSA 📢 Heading to Bugis MRT station on 6 Jun 2022?

Do note that we will be conducting Exercise Station Guard – an emergency preparedness exercise – that day from 10am to 4pm on the 🔵 #DTL and 🟢 #EWL.

During this exercise, you may be asked to go through metal detector checks and have your belongings scanned by X-ray machines.

💡 #TravelTip Factor in additional time for your journey and avoid bringing bulky items since these may require more time to clear security checks.
#HappeningNow Travelling to/from Bugis MRT station on the 🔵 #DTL or 🟢 #EWL today?

You may be asked to go through a security screening as part of Exercise Station Guard. This exercise is conducted regularly to validate our security measures at public transport nodes and help familiarise commuters on how they should respond if there’s an emergency on our public transport network.

Do factor in additional travel time for the screening and avoid bringing bulky items.

#ThankYou for playing your part to ensure our public transport system continues to be safe and secure for all commuters like you and I. 😊

🚆 #DidYouKnow that the Thomson-East Coast Line (#TEL) intersects with all existing lines in our MRT network?

🤔 However, constructing interchange stations comes with many challenges. For example, to construct the #TEL3 Stevens interchange station, we had to build new stacked tunnels between existing #DTL tunnels with ‘live’ train services running every single day. #EngineeringWOW 🏗💪🏽

👀 Check out this video made by one of our engineers to see how we managed to pull off this seemingly impossible feat!
#PSA 📢 Heading to Chinatown MRT station on 9 Dec 2022?

Do note that we will be conducting Exercise Station Guard – an emergency preparedness exercise – that day from 10am to 4pm on the 🟣 #NEL and 🔵 #DTL. During this period, Exit F along Upper Cross Street will be closed. 🚫

#NDP2023 Our trains and stations will be decked out in Singapore’s iconic colours 🔴 to mark our nation’s 58th birthday!🎂🇸🇬

You can catch these NDP-themed designs in selected trains and MRT stations in #NSEWL, #NEL, #CCL, #DTL, #TEL networks from today onwards till 31 Aug!🚇
#PSA Train services on the #DTL are still running today. However, as an added precaution, train services will be temporarily stopped when the controlled detonation of the war relic is about to take place.

The first train passing Cashew - Bukit Panjang stretch (on both bounds) after the detonation will also proceed at a slower speed to check for any track abnormalities.

We seek commuters’ understanding that when this happens, you may have to wait 15 to 20 minutes in the train or at the station before you can continue your journey.

Do pay attention to station/train announcements when you’re travelling on the DTL today.
We’re “lighting” up your journeys to welcome the #FestivalOfLights! Take a ride in our beautiful festive-themed trains, MRT stations and buses this Deepavali. 🪔💜

Catch them on selected trains at all the MRT lines as well as on bus services 67, 147, 166, 106, 960 from now till 26 Nov 2023.

You can even spot the festive wall murals at Great World #TEL, Outram Park #NEL, Little India #DTL, Ang Mo Kio #NSL and Bedok #EWL! 🤩
