#PSA The current vehicle growth rate (#VGR) will be maintained until 31 January 2025 as we adopt more sustainable and greener transport modes in land-scarce Singapore.

#FunFactFriday Do you know that our MRT network has been expanding and will grow to 360km by 2040s? (Hello new rail lines! #TEL #CCL6 #JRL👋🏻) By 2030, #ActiveMobility users like you and I can also look forward to 1,300km of cycling paths all around our sunny island. #NowYouKnow 🚴🏻‍♂️🏝😎

Take the chance to #GiveYourCarABreak and try out #WalkCycleRide whenever you can!

Wondering how the tunnelling works are conducted for Circle Line 6 (#CCL6), especially when we are digging in such close proximity to heritage buildings like the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station 🏗️ – a National Monument that was built almost a century ago? 😨

Learn how we overcame the construction challenges here! ➡️ bit.ly/ccl6challenges
🚇🟠 Since #CCL opened in 2009, it has connected many commuters like you and I all over our sunny island.

Slated for completion by 2026, the #CCL6 will add three new stations – Keppel, Cantonment and Prince Edward Road – between Harbourfront and Marina Bay MRT stations.

Watch this video to see how far CCL has journeyed with us! 😍

#PSA We’ve awarded two contracts for the Jurong Region Line (#JRL)! 🚆

1️⃣ The contract for the design and construction of the final station along JRL (JW5 station located in NTU) and its associated viaducts has been awarded to Hwa Seng Builder Pte Ltd. An experienced local builder, they’re currently constructing two other JRL stations – JW3 and JW4 – which are also located within NTU. 🚧 Construction works for JW5 station is expected to start in 3Q 2022 and complete in 2029. With the award of this contract, all civil works contracts for JRL have been awarded. 👏

2️⃣ The second contract is to provide the JRL’s power supply system ⚡️ and it has been awarded to Siemens Mobility Pte Ltd / Concord Corporation Pte Ltd Consortium. They have strong track record in this area, having completed the power supply system on the #DTL and they are working on the power supply system on #CCL6 and #NELe as well.

Hooray, we’ve just completed the first phase of the Singapore Rail Test Centre (#SRTC). Construction of the high speed test track in this facility is now completed and the track is ready for operation! 🙌🥳

Slated for completion in 2025, the SRTC is the first train testing facility in Southeast Asia and will be a comprehensive testing platform for multiple railway systems before they are deployed on the main line. 🚆⚙️ This will facilitate round-the-clock testing and free up limited engineering hours on operational lines for maintenance and renewal works – which is aimed at strengthening the reliability of our rail network! 🔧

#DidYouKnow We’ve begun testing and commissioning works for the first 2 Circle Line 6 (#CCL6) trains 🧡 at the facility. The SRTC is also designed and operated with sustainability in mind e.g. energy-saving equipment, solar panels, and a hybrid cooling system. #MyGoGreenFlags 💚

We’ve just awarded the contract for the design and construction of tunnels between the Cross Island Line Phase 2 (#CRL2) Jurong Lake District station and West Coast station (working names) to Nishimatsu Construction Co. Ltd – Okumura Corporation Singapore Branch Joint Venture!

Both companies have a strong track record of undertaking tunnelling projects in Singapore and abroad. 💪🚧 Nishimatsu Construction Co. Ltd is currently constructing the bored tunnels between #CRL Tampines North station and Defu station and have previously completed tunnelling works for #CCL6 Keppel station and #TEL Gardens by the Bay station. 🚇 Okumura Corporation has worked on projects such as the Deep Tunnel Sewerage System, Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway and Taipei MRT Airport Line.

Works for these tunnels are expected to start in Q4 2024 and passenger service for CRL2 is slated to commence in 2032.
