Abstract
Introduction: One of the most important issues of organizations in the modern age is to maximize their #efficiency via #improvement of #organizational #behavior. Organizational behavior is #directly #linked to #mental #health and recent #studies have shown the major role of #religion in #maintaining mental health of people. The aim of the study was to #investigate the efficacy of #psycho_religious training on improvement of the organizational behavior and mental health.
Method: A group of 120 white collar #personnel (60 females and 60 males) chosen by #cluster #sampling & #divided randomly into two equal #experimental and control groups (n=60; 30 female & 30 male). The #experimental #trial was the #administration of the psycho-religious training for three weeks, which consisted of twelve 120-minute #discussion_group sessions during 12 weeks. In order to assess the mental health, #GHQ_28 was administered as pre-test and post-test in both groups.
Findings: The results of the #independent and dependent t-test indicate the #positive #effect of psycho-religious training on the mental health of the participants in the experimental group in indices of #anxiety/#insomnia, severe #depression, and total health (p<.05). There were no #significant #gender differences.
Discussion and conclusion: These #findings suggest that incorporation of #religious training within the usual #modalities of #psychological interventions would be beneficial and increase the levels of mental health and organizational behavior. Implications and suggestions are discussed.

📚بررسی ها نشان داده اند که #نورهای #آبی ساطع شده از #تجهیزات #الکترونیک (بویژه #گوشی های #هوشمند) بدلیل قطع ترشح #ملاتونین عاملی مهم برای اختلالات خواب و بیخوابی در کاربران هستند.
🔬 در این پژوهش آزمایشی کنترل شده که بر 14 نفر داوطلب دارای اختلالات خواب صورت گرفت، به افراد عینکهایی با لنزهای مخصوص به رنگ #کهربایی و مسدود کننده نورهای آبی داده شد تا دو ساعت قبل از خواب بر چشم بزنند.
🔎نتایج نشان دادند تنها بعد از 1 هفته، شدت بیخوابی در افراد استفاده کننده از این عینکها به شکل معناداری کاهش یافت.
🔆بنظر می رسد عینکهای با لنز کهربایی که برای دید بهتر در شب و رانندگی نیز توصیه می شوند، ابزارهایی ارزان و بدون آسیب و غیرتهاجمی برای کاهش اختلالات خواب (بویژه در کاربران گوشی های هوشمند) هستند.

The use of light-emitting #electronic #devices before #bedtime may contribute to or exacerbate #sleep #problems. Exposure to blue-wavelength light in particular from these devices may affect sleep by suppressing #melatonin and causing #neurophysiologic #arousal. We aimed to determine if wearing #amber-tinted blue light-blocking lenses before bedtime improves sleep in individuals with insomnia. Fourteen individuals (n = 8 females; age ± SD 46.6 ± 11.5 y) with insomnia symptoms wore blue light-blocking amber lenses or clear #placebo lenses in #lightweight #wraparound frames for 2 h immediately preceding bedtime for 7 consecutive nights in a randomized crossover trial (4-wk washout). #Ambulatory #sleep #measures included the #Pittsburgh #Insomnia #Rating #Scale (PIRS) completed at the end of each intervention period, and daily post-sleep questionnaire and #wrist-actigraphy. #PIRS total scores, and #Quality of Life (#QOL), #Distress, and #Sleep #Parameter subscales, were improved in amber vs. clear lenses condition (p-values <0.05). Reported #wake-time was significantly delayed, and mean #subjective #total #sleep time (#TST), overall quality, and soundness of sleep were significantly higher (p-values <0.05) in amber vs. clear lenses condition over the 7-d intervention period. Actigraphic measures of TST only were significantly higher in amber vs. clear lenses condition (p = 0.035). Wearing amber vs. clear lenses for 2-h preceding bedtime for 1 week improved sleep in individuals with #insomnia #symptoms. These findings have health relevance given the broad use of light-emitting devices before bedtime and prevalence of insomnia. #Amber #lenses represent a safe, affordable, and easily implemented #therapeutic #intervention for insomnia symptoms.

Sleep, a mysterious #behavior, has recently been recognized as a crucial factor for #health and #longevity. The daily sleep/wake #cycle provides the basis of #biorhythms controlling whole-body #homeostasis and #homeodynamics; therefore, #disruption of sleep causes several #physical and #psychological disorders, including #cardiovascular disease, #obesity, #diabetes, #cancer, #anxiety, #depression, and #cognitive #dysfunction. However, the mechanism linking sleep disturbances and sleep-related disorders remains unknown. #Orexin (also known as #hypocretin) is a #neuropeptide produced in the #hypothalamus. Central levels of orexin #oscillate with the #daily #rhythm and #peak at the #awake phase. Orexin plays a major role in #stabilizing the #wakefulness state. Orexin deficiency causes sleep/wake-state instability, resulting in #narcolepsy. Hyper-activation of the orexin system also causes sleep disturbances, such as #insomnia, and hence, #suvorexant, an orexin #receptor #antagonist, has been clinically used to treat insomnia. Importantly, central actions of orexin regulate #motivated behaviors, #stress response, and #energy/glucose #metabolism by coordinating the central-#autonomic #nervous systems and #endocrine systems. These multiple actions of orexin maintain #survival. However, it remains unknown whether chronopharmacological interventions targeting the orexin system ameliorate sleep-related disorders as well as sleep in humans. To understand the significance of adequate orexin action for #prevention of these disorders, this review summarizes the #physiological functions of daily orexin action and #pathological implications of its mistimed or reduced action in sleep disturbances and sleep-related disorders (#lifestyle-related physical and #neurological disorders in particular). Timed administration of drugs targeting the orexin system may prevent lifestyle-related diseases by improving the #quality of #life (#QOL) in #patients with sleep disturbances.
