After sheltering in Khan Younis for 50 days, Bisan Owda was forced to flee again. She has now fled seven times, this time to Rafah.
Israeli forces dropped leaflets warning Palestinians to evacuate as they started bombing the areas around Nasser Hospital, the largest medical facility in southern Gaza.
About 1 million people, half of Gaza’s population, is now trying to find shelter in Rafah. Bisan says people know they won’t escape bombing there, but are fleeing anyway because of Israel’s expansion of its ground invasion.

Falasteen Abu Teimah, a displaced Palestinian mother, resides in the tents for the displaced next to the Nasser Medical Complex. She cooks food on paper due to the scarcity of firewood for cooking.
Her hungry children help her light fires under the pot of food she obtained from contributors and donors.
Falasteen hopes for the end of the war and dreams of returning to her home, which she believes has become a dream after they contracted chest diseases as a result of pollution and the spread of diseases in the displacement camps.

As of today, more than 9,600 Palestinian children in Gaza have been killed by the Israeli genocidal assault on the besieged population. Thousands more are missing and presumed dead. Gaza has been described as a “graveyard for children” by UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
#MassKillings are the tip of the iceberg of Israeli violations against Gaza's children. The vast majority are currently displaced. Most face severe #hunger, with #malnutrition posing lifelong developmental risks for young children. There are 71,000 cases of diarrhea in children under 5 in Gaza, which can cause dehydration and death. #UNICEF reported that around 1,000 #children in #Gaza have lost one or both legs.
