The chart below shows the percentage of men and women who did various free time activities in England in 2006. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting main features, and make comparisons where relevant
The bar chart illustrates the percentages of English males and females engaged in different pastime activities in 2006. The data compares seven activities.

Overall, men were largely active and thus, did almost all activities more than women did. The only spheres in which women showed more interest were spending time with family and shopping - the latter being much bigger than their male counterparts. The internet, on the other hand, was mostly preferred by men, therefore men were comparatively a lot active here. The least chosen leisure time activity by both genders was playing video games in which men were slightly dominant whereas watching television was by far the most popular option for both.

To start with the most important figures, both parties spent much of their time at home or for household purposes. Watching television was the most preferable - both figures at around 80% with a slight dominance in men. This was closely followed by family time; both were well-above 75% with females being involved a little more. In contrary, the lowest proportions of both genders spent their time playing computer games; the rate for females doing so was 6% - a half of the figure in men in very category.

When it comes to the biggest differences, share for women preferring shopping was a little below 75% - higher by nearly 45% than the figure for men in this field. However, opposite tendency was true in Internet use, in which men had twice as high as proportion than women had - nearly 75%.

As for the rest categories , they were quite moderate. Men were relatively higher in percentages both in sports and reading - both at around 75% while females' rates for these two activities were almost the same- approximately 70%.
