China Textile Center
, designed by ATAH, is an art and commercial complex located in Shaoxing. The Heli-stage of CTC, situated at the main entrance of the complex, serves as the heart of the project. As the symbolic center of the entire complex, this #unique #structure has its own design language and aims to blend the various commercial #attractions with an artistic touch. The design concept involves a #spiral form that blurs the boundary between floors, there by #connecting the exterior space with the interior, and creating a continuous exhibition space. To achieve this visual effect, a geometric web fuses onto a #helical #surface. Visitors will move through both indoor and outdoor landscaping via the #access #staircase without noticing the transition due to the floors’ blurring effect....

Han Show Theatre / Stufish Entertainment Architects
The design of Han Show Theatre is inspired by the #traditional #Chinese paper lantern, which is why it's often called The #Red #Lantern. Stufish #Entertainment #Architects designed it with the aim of creating a #recognizable and iconic Chinese symbol.
Stufish's #concept involved creating a modern #interpretation of a traditional bamboo superstructure of a paper lantern using tubular steel rings. The paper-like #surface is achieved using cable nets with 18,000 structural nodes, each #supporting a red #concave aluminum disk. These disks are designed to resemble ancient Bi disks from the Han Dynasty and are fitted with red #LEDs for #illumination.
