This #twisting #skyscraper in Chongqing was inspired by the shape of the northern lights (sketches in image 10). The recently completed building, designed for Chongqing Gaoke Group by @aedas_architects, rises 180-metres above the city and offers over 60,000 square metres of office space.
The 39-storey skyscraper uses double-curved cold formed glass to achieve a twisting angle of up to 8.8 degrees per floor in places.
In a statement, Aedas explained that the building's design "celebrates light as the major tool to define architecture".

“Mercedes-Benz Places in Miami”
Mercedes-Benz has released more renders of its proposed new skyscraper in Miami. The car brand will partner with #jdsdevelopmentgroup to create “Mercedes-Benz Places in Miami” — a development that it says will “merge modern living spaces with #innovative #mobility concepts under the theme of Timeless Design, Inspired by Miami”.
The move follows the announcement in January of a 341-meter #supertall #skyscraper in Dubai called Mercedes-Benz Places, a partnership between the #automotive giant and developer Binghatti.
The trend of car #manufacturers entering the real estate #market looks set to continue #this #year. The #intention is to extend the reach of these #brands from the #streets and into the #homes of consumers. It’s a move that helps both the car manufacturers and property developers stand out and tell a more #impactful brand.......🔗
