#CONCEPT The project reclaims and reformulates the concept of "stairs as a social space" through a system of connections (links) that communicate each floor in a democratic and dynamicstyle; by replacing the traditional staircase the user navigates the building in a more unpredictable and personal way.

#DESIGN #CHALLENGE Mercado Libre, the biggest e-commerce company of Latin America, has established their new headquarters in a refurbished building previously owned by the Philips Company. Alltogether it has 21.570 sqm of office space distributed in nine floors covering 4500 sqm each. The design challenge was to create flexible working areas that would boost and inspire the talent and creativity within the company.

Han Show Theatre / Stufish Entertainment Architects

The design of Han Show Theatre is inspired by the #traditional #Chinese paper lantern, which is why it's often called The #Red #Lantern. Stufish #Entertainment #Architects designed it with the aim of creating a #recognizable and iconic Chinese symbol.

Stufish's #concept involved creating a modern #interpretation of a traditional bamboo superstructure of a paper lantern using tubular steel rings. The paper-like #surface is achieved using cable nets with 18,000 structural nodes, each #supporting a red #concave aluminum disk. These disks are designed to resemble ancient Bi disks from the Han Dynasty and are fitted with red #LEDs for #illumination.

Adey Ababa Stadium - 62,000 seats

The #concept of national stadium for Ethiopia was part of an #international #competition in 2012. The sports-leisure hub of Addis Ababa is to be built on a vast, mostly unused square of 67ha in eastern part of the city.

Most of the #terrain will be taken by the primary stadium and its parking infrastructure for 10,000 cars, together consuming 37ha. The #remainder will be used to provide football, volleyball and basketball fields, together with a swimming pool and smaller facilities.

🧐 AHL architects explain that traditional homes in Vietnam have long used buffer zones—such as deep verandas, lattices, thick walls, and trees—for #cooling in the #tropical climate. The porch, in particular, plays a crucial role as a transitional, #multipurpose #space connecting indoor and outdoor #environments, common in northern Vietnamese homes.

🎮Inspired by this #concept, the DHY house was designed by a famous #fashion #designer for her #mother in Thai Nguyen. It combines living spaces with porches and buffer zones in various proportions.

The Essence of Biophilic Architecture

🔝Biophilic #design is more than just bringing plants into a space; it's about creating #environments that deeply connect us to nature. 🔗Through architecture, we can weave #natural elements into our daily lives, enhancing well-being and fostering creativity. #Concept sketches are where this connection begins—a visual journey where nature’s patterns, organic forms, and #natural #light come together to shape our built environment.⚙️

🥷It’s fascinating how a #single line can evoke the fluidity of a river or the #strength of a tree. By integrating biophilic principles, we can #transform #spaces into restorative environments that offer more than just #aesthetic beauty.🎮
