1. Terra and Aqua are NASA satellites which has MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer)
as a key instrument.
2. Both are Earth observatory satellite studying the climatic factors such as precipitation, evaporation, water

3. Both the satellites have tracked the cyclone Fani and it is also used to track forest fires in India.

Kondapalli Toys



1. These are cultural icons of Andhra Pradesh and one of the most sold handicrafts in India and abroad.
2. They are the toys made of softwood ‘Tella Poniki’ in Kondapalli of Krishna district, Andhra Pradesh.
3. The wooden piece is heated to make it moisture-free. Different parts of the image are carved separately.
4. They are then glued together with an adhesive made of crushed tamarind seeds.
5.These toys were one of the varieties of toys assembled in the houses during the festivals of Sankranti and Navratri.

 Nirbhaya fund:

The Rs 1,000 crore Nirbhaya Fund was announced in Union Budget 2013 by the then Finance Minister P Chidambaram.

The corpus was to be utilised for upholding safety and dignity of women.

Ministry of Women and Child Development apart from several other concerned ministries were authorised to work out details of structure, scope and application of this fund.

The Fund is created and administered by Department of Economic Affairs of the finance ministry.

The new species has been named ‘Thanatotheristes degrootorum’ (means “reaper of death”).

The species is the oldest tyrannosaur known from northern North America.

Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF)


Investor Education and Protection Fund (IEPF)has been established under provision of the Companies Act, 2013.

The amounts such as dividends, applications money, matured deposits etc, which have remained unpaid or unclaimed for a period of 7 years are required to be transferred to the IEPF.

The Amounts credited to IEPF are maintained under the Consolidated Fund of India (Article 266 of the Constitution).

The fund is utilized for promoting investor awareness and protection of investor interests.
