Atmospheric Research Testbed (ART)

- Establishment : By Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), MoES, at Silkheda.

- Aim : To enhance understanding of processes governing monsoon convection.

- Component :

● ART-CI (Atmospheric Research Testbed-Central India) features remote-sensing and in-situ instruments.

- Objectives :

● Understanding monsoon convection and land-atmosphere interactions in the monsoon core region.

● Measurement of relevant meteorological parameters

● Organizing intense observational campaigns and weather prediction model runs for testing hypotheses and improving model parameterizations.
