🔖 Pro tip of the day: carb cycling
Carb cycling is a plan that consists of rotating High, Moderate and Low carbohydrate intakes according to your daily workout plan and to the end goal of your diet.
👨🏼🔬According to the current research, when the amount of glycogen is lower the basal metabolic rate increases 🔥 (in part due to the enhance mitochondrial density), increasing fat burning up to three times the amount of fat that the control group burned (but it can also cause a greater loss of muscle 🙅🏻).
📝One of the simplest methods of carb cycling (and very useful to see how your body reacts to it) is known as "Fuel for the work required", the premise of this method is simple, adjust 📈 the amount of carbohydrates consumed depending on the training needs.
❕An example of this routine would be on leg days using high carbs 🍚, on upper body moderate carbs 🍙 and on rest days low carbs 🥩.
❕If your goal is to progress in a specific muscle group, just change the high carb days to the days of that specific muscle group ✔️, if you train a strong muscle group the first thing in the morning ☀️, it would be advisable to do the high carb day the day before, since muscle glycogen is not lost at night, only liver glycogen.

🔎 An Incredible Fat-Loss and Anti-Aging Tool - Metformin (Glucophage) 101
Metformin is a very popular medication used to treat type 2 diabetes and polycystic ovary syndrome. Now, before you think this is definitely not for you, keep reading because this has a ton of applications in a bodybuilding and anti-aging context!
Metformin lowers blood glucose levels. This means that it can improve insulin sensitivity and aid in losing fat while also improving muscle building and nutrient partitioning.
Besides that it can also lower cholesterol and improve erectile function, two things that any bodybuilder on SARMs or AAS will appreciate. Finally, it has also been shown to contribute to longevity as well as fight certain kinds of cancer.
All in all, a great drug with tons of health benefits that can help just about anyone, including athletes.
But what about the side-effects? Well, the reality is that when used responsibly it is extremely safe. Hypoglycemia is a risk if combined with other blood glucose-lowering medications, but it can be solved by ingesting carbs.
There is also data showing that it may inhibit mTOR, which is linked to muscle growth. However, in the real world Metformin does not appear to limit muscle growth in any significant way. Quite the opposite, in fact.
The normal Metformin dose when bulking up is 1000mg/day, taken twice a day (morning and night). If you are cutting, opt for 250mg twice a day for a total of 500mg/day instead. Always try to take it before eating carbs.

🩸Why every bodybuilder must own a glucometer
A glucometer is a small medical device that measures the concentration of glucose in your blood.
Chances are you’ve seen someone in your family use it, because it’s a must-have for diabetics (and let’s face it, we all have a diabetic person in our extended family).

🥗 Be the boss of your own metabolism
The rate at which your body burns calories is what we call “metabolism”. You will lose weight more quickly the faster your metabolism is. Some people gain weight more easily or struggle to lose weight because they have a slower metabolism. The good news is that by accelerating your metabolism, you can make your body more effective at burning fat. If you control your metabolism, you’ll always be in control of your weight.

🥦 Glycemic Index and Glycemic Load
When it comes to bodybuilding and nutrition, understanding both the glycemic index (GI) and glycemic load (GL) of various foods can provide some useful insights. While the glycemic index is a relative ranking of how different carbohydrates affect blood sugar, the glycemic load takes into account both the quality and quantity of carbohydrates consumed.
Some critics of the GI system note flaws that can make it an unreliable measurement. GI looks solely at the carb count. Basing a diet around GI only means you would be ignoring other helpful information to determine the true health value of a food.
