🗓 This Morning (25 Apr 2023), a Russian MANPAD system shot down a Ukrainian Su-25 in the #Kherson direction. The enemy aircraft went down near the village of #Veletenskoye, west of #Kherson near the #Borshchevka River. A large fire occurred at the site, characteristic for a downed attack aircraft.

The enemy had 32 Su-25 attack aircraft in service and another 10 in storage prior to the start of the# SMO. According to open sources, the AFU has lost about 16 aircraft of this type so far.
📌 Lately, Ukrainian Aviation activity in the area near #Kherson has increased. Ukrainian Air Force aircraft regularly take off from the airfield in #Voznesensk and #Kanatovo, and when a pair of Su-25s flew to #Kherson, a Bayraktar TB2 drone was in the air north of #Belozerka.

Seriously, there have been many such statements, and without providing facts it often turns into information support for the "hurrah-patriotic" audience.
❗️But the time has passed, which, by all appearances, has become the best proof that the operation did take place.
▪️ The operation was carried out with the involvement of S-400 SAMs and MiG-31BM fighters, and the targeting was carried out by the Russian A-50U AWACS aircraft in several "waves" (seven aircraft were hit on 20 October alone). We don’t know whether they were preceded by the launch of “decoys” at Ukrainian aviation airfields to simultaneously lift planes into the air, but it would be logical.
🔎 If at the beginning of October, at least 30 aircraft were active on the territory of #Ukraine by means of air defense and EW, then over the past week such one-time marks were no more than 10-12 (even adjusted for bad weather, the number decreased).
▪️ As a rule, we are talking about Su-27 and MiG-29 type aircraft based at the #Kanatovo, #Dolgintsevo, #Voznesensk, #Mirgorod, #Ozernoye airfields. Also, Su-24M bombers from the #Starokonstantinov airfield disappeared from the radar. This is due to their loss or an attempt to protect scarce aircraft from strikes is still questionable.
▪️ In addition, recently Ukrainian formations have been striking mainly with S-200 missiles and ATACMS-type missiles (out of 20 missiles received by #Ukraine, at least 9 have been used up - the air defence reported the shooting down of five missiles, another batch with a range of up to 300 km arrived in #Ukraine the day before).
▪️ Let us repeat: so far, all confirmations (due to the absence of obituaries from the AFU, which can last for months) are indirect. But, in general, the change in the AFU's approaches to fire defeat (even without taking into account the reduction of aviation activity on EW assets) is a logical consequence of such an operation.
▪️ And there have been no attacks with Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missiles for a long time, which may indicate the success of the operation. However, we should not rule out the possibility of elementary exhaustion of supplies and waiting for new ones.
📌 Unfortunately, the Russian Ministry of Defence did not provide any objective control personnel, so such bright victories after a year and eight months of SMO are not immediately believable.

▪️ Let us repeat: so far, all confirmations (due to the absence of obituaries from the AFU, which can last for months) are indirect. But, in general, the change in the AFU's approaches to fire defeat (even without taking into account the reduction of aviation activity on EW assets) is a logical consequence of such an operation.
▪️ And there have been no attacks with Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missiles for a long time, which may indicate the success of the operation. However, we should not rule out the possibility of elementary exhaustion of supplies and waiting for new ones.
📌 Unfortunately, the Russian Ministry of Defence did not provide any objective control personnel, so such bright victories after a year and eight months of SMO are not immediately believable.

🔹In the #Kherson direction, Russian servicemen made several attempts to dislodge the enemy from #Krynki on the left bank of the #Dnieper. They managed to achieve some successes, but the AFU still maintain the bridgehead in the centre of the village. Now fierce fighting continues at the site, and UAVs are actively working. In addition, the enemy also maintains a bridgehead near the railway bridge to the west.
🔹During the battle for #Avdeyevka, the RF Armed Forces are expanding their zone of control and consolidating their previously occupied positions at the railway near #Petrovskoye (#Stepovoye). On the southern flank, fighting continues near the Tsarskaya Okhota campsite and south of #Severnoye.
🔹During the night, Russian troops again struck rear facilities of Ukrainian formations. One of the targets was the #Kanatovo Airfield, where Storm Shadow cruise missile carrier aircraft are based. There is no exact information about the results of the hit yet, but the enemy's air defences were unable to intercept all targets. Several more targets have been hit in and around #Kharkov, as well as in Ivano-Frankovsk, #Odessa and #Lvov regions.
🔹Ukrainian formations, in turn, again attacked #Crimea with a swarm of Mugin-5 PRO drones. 13 of the drones were suppressed by electronic warfare equipment near the village of #Razdolnoye, and two more were shot down by air defence means.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦🎯 Comprehensive AFU Attack on #Crimea and #Kherson Region⚡️
🗓 By morn, Ukrainian formations again attacked the south of #Russia, hitting #Crimea and #Kherson region.
▪️ First, at around 10:40, 3 Neptune antiship missiles were fired from the Alibey firing range in the #Odessa region. 2 of them were shot down on the approach to #Sevastopol (target was a mooring for ships and boats), and the 3rd was downed near Cape #Tarkhankut (AFU likely intended to strike an air defence positioning area).
▪️ Then, close to one 13:00, near #Perevalnoye village, an R-100 drone fell into a field at the training ground. Apparently, the drone was landed by an EW team. It detonated without causing any damage to infrastructure or civilian objects.
🔹 At the same time, a MiG-29 naval aviation fighter detected up to 8 unmanned boats moving towards #Sevastopol and Cape #Tarkhankut. Additional aircraft and patrol boats were sent to meet them.
▪️ The AFU boats slowed down, and those that were moving towards #Sevastopol turned around. 4 were destroyed 100-120 km west of Cape #Tarkhankut, and the rest, according to RF MoD, were destroyed later, one of them was a landing boat.
🔹 Almost at the same time, as the attack on #Crimea, Ukrainian formations launched several combined strikes on the #Kherson region. MiG-29 fighters from #Kanatovo and #Uman fired several missiles, probably decoys.
▪️ HIMARS MLRS crews from the #Kherson region struck Askania-Nova and #Chaplinka with 4 rockets. According to preliminary data, there was no damage to infrastructure or casualties.
📌 As on previous times, the combined attack took place just after a drone strike. The day before, 3 drones had been shot down near #Crimea. And this happened immediately after the weather improved. And an American RQ-4B drone was in the air at the time.
