🫶 Readovka's Military Correspondent Maxim Dolgov visited the recruits of the Bogdan Khmelnitsky Battalion, created on the basis of the OBTF "Kaskad". There he talked to a fighter with the call sign "Shum", who has lived in #Mariupol all his life and joined the AFU as a conscript. After captivity, Shum went through filtration and became a serviceman of the Russian army. He told our war correspondent about the deplorable situation in the enemy army, as well as about the lack of awareness about the real situation at the front among ordinary AFUshniks. The situation is so bad that Shum's fellow countrymen who are captured think that #Mariupol is still under the control of 404. Simply put, the choice for the fighter was obvious.

▪️ In the #Kupyansk sector, the Russian army has advanced in the area of #Petropavlovka and #Sinkovka. In addition, there are successes near #Makeyevka.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦🔎 What Results the AFU Achieved in Five Months of Offensive⚡️
⚔️Active combat operations began on 4 June. At the moment, the AFU offensive has not stopped, but it is clear that it is losing momentum and is being maintained more to create visibility than to achieve real goals.
🔹What was the Offensive Plan?
▪️ Initially, the AFU command planned to launch two dissecting strikes and reach two major cities, #Melitopol (and further to #Berdyansk) and #Mariupol on the coast of the Azov Sea.
▪️ It was assumed that in the course of the offensive the territory with a total area of about 23,000 km2 would be captured, and in a number of directions, including the Crimean and Donetsk ones, the threat of encirclement of Russian troops would be created.
▪️ In reality, a competently constructed line of defence and redesigned fire tactics prevented the AFU from succeeding.
▪️ At the moment, the total area of territory in which the AFU has managed to advance is about 140 km2 in the #Zaporozhye direction and 116 km2 in the #SouthDonetsk direction, which is almost 90 times less than it was supposed to occupy during the offensive.
🔹What other Problems does the AFU have?
▪️ In addition to problems with the failure to fulfil the offensive's main objectives, there are others. On 4 September, former Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that each day of combat operations costs Ukraine $100 million.
▪️ Thus, 153 days (five months) of the offensive cost Kiev $15.3bn, but this money did not bring results. It is noteworthy that almost immediately the previously created myth about the superiority of the AFU, NATO tactics and technical superiority collapsed. Most of the expectations from the nature of the AFU actions simply did not realise.
▪️ If the offensive had been successful, a number of #EU countries and the US would most likely have continued or increased the supply of military equipment. Now that almost all available conventional weapons options,- from small drones to man-portable air defence systems, have been tried, many have lost enthusiasm to continue deliveries.
▪️ In addition, favourable timing has been lost. In the winter of 2022 and spring of 2023, much expectation was placed on warm season warfare. It was thought that summer and warm weather would favour the AFU offensive, but this did not happen.
🔹What losses did the AFU suffer?
▪️ On 30 October, Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoygu said that the AFU had lost more than 90,000 people killed and wounded during the offensive. These are 36 brigades of 2.5 thousand men each. No other army in the world has suffered such losses since World War II. The fleet of foreign equipment supplied to the AFU has been largely confused. The experience of using American M2 Bradley BMPs, M113/YPR-765 and M1126 Stryker APCs, Leopard 2A4/A5 (Strv 122)/A6 and Challenger 2 tanks, PzH-2000, M109 and AS-90 UASs has shown that Western combat vehicles cannot fundamentally change the situation on the battlefield, while their destruction and damage have an immediate and negative impact on the situation at the front.
🔹What's the Result?
▪️ In addition, the failure of the AFU offensive has caused a split in the once united camp of #Ukraine's supporters. In the US, congressmen are asking questions about the prospects for aid to Kiev, while in #Europe some countries have already suspended or stopped military supplies to #Ukraine, among them #Slovakia and the main military donor in #Europe, #Poland.
▪️ Also, five months of intense fighting have depleted the stockpiles of arms and ammunition not only in #Ukraine, but also in the #EU, from where they were forcibly transferred in the spring of 2023. The EU will be able to replenish reserves to the level of 2022 not earlier than 2025. In the short term, therefore, one cannot count on increased supplies, and without them, the prospects for any offensive actions in 2024 look very illusory.

▪️ Putin visited the headquarters of the Southern Military District in #Rostov-on-Don, heard reports on the progress of the Strategic Defence Forces and familiarised himself with new samples of military equipment;
▪️ Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Medvedev announced a multiple growth in the production of armaments and military equipment in the Russian Federation. According to him, the capabilities of the Russian defence industry have reached an unprecedented level faster than expected;
▪️ It is time for the Kiev regime to realise that it cannot win on the battlefield, Russian presidential spokesman Peskov said;
▪️ The RF Armed Forces have carried out 11 group strikes with drones and high-precision weapons on Ukrainian airfield infrastructure, arsenals, weapons and equipment storage sites in 7 days, the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) said;
▪️ In the #Kherson direction, the AFU repeatedly tried to land on the left bank of the #Dnieper River during the week. Their losses for 7 days amounted up to 505 militants there. For courage and heroism in repelling one of the attacks, senior lieutenant Arsalanov and other soldiers of his company were presented with state awards, MoD said.
▪️ The RF Armed Forces repelled 60 enemy attacks in 5 directions during the week, the AFU lost about 4,825 militants and 375 units of various equipment, not counting aircraft and drones, according to the weekly report of MoD;
▪️ Russian air defence shot down 8 AFU aircraft, 32 HIMARS shells, 12 SCALP and Storm Shadow cruise missiles, 2 Neptun antiship missiles. MoD said;
▪️ Russian air defence on Friday intercepted 2 Ukrainian UAVs over #Crimea, another 1 drone over #Tula region, and another over #Bryansk region, MoD reported. Also, one Ukrainian UAV was neutralised by EW means in the Livensky district of the #Orel region, regional governor Klychkov said;
▪️ The FSB for the #DPR reported the detention of an Ukrainian citizen who is suspected of organising an assassination attempt on the director of a factory in #Mariupol;

💥 In principle, civilian targets become military targets when they are used for military purposes. If this is militarily necessary, then the civilian population must be evacuated as far as possible. This was the case in #Mariupol before the encirclement and later via humanitarian corridors, the use of which was often prevented by #Ukraine.
🔹As far as #Gaza is concerned, the IDF refers to military use by Hamas:
❗️Without providing any evidence. If I haven't missed anything, an alleged tunnel turned out to be a water reservoir, and the alleged evidence recently presented with the calendar was faked. So the IDF has not met its burden of proof (for all targeted objects).
🔹Assuming that the military use would be clearly proven, there is still the question of whether an evacuation would be possible at all. In the case of hospitals with intensive care units and so on, and given the well-known, indisputable humanitarian and military situation in Gaza, I have had reasonable doubts. In addition, evidence has been presented that evacuation routes have been shelled.
🔹Assuming that the evacuation is hypothetically possible, the proportionality of the means must still be considered. With over 4,000 children killed, over 100 UN employees and over 50 journalists, the proportionality is no longer given under the standards of the civilised world. Western MSM and journalists have now also recognised this.

💡With regard to the #Ukraine-#Russia conflict, it should be noted that both sides have a duty to evacuate civilians from potential new combat zones. In the view of the independent analyst, accusing each other of forced evacuation is pure propaganda. However, it is obvious that there will always be those unwilling to evacuate, which naturally leads to conflict.

🔹1. We had success in the industrial zone (Promka - industrial zone of the colony), which is to the right of the well-known AFU checkpoint No. 1 on the Ring Road towards #Yasinovataya. Well done, we took a serious fortification, from where a lot of things flew at #Donetsk.
🔹2. If we take the Coke Plant, we can send warm greetings to #Avdeyevka. To keep people there for the APU would simply mean killing personnel. But they do not care about. The enemy did the same in #Bakhmut, sending people to slaughter in packs. By the way, they had a 50,000 strong group there, and Wagner with 25-30 thousand fighters worked against them.

🎯 "Geranium" UAVs have been hitting the enemy's rear areas for another night, with explosions heard in #Khmelnitsky, #Kharkov and #Poltava regions. Yesterday it was reported that a Patriot air defense system supplied from Germany was destroyed near #Zhitomir by a hypersonic "Kinzhal".
▪️ In the #Kherson direction, an air strike was carried out on the place of the enemy's landing, UAV operators also destroyed boats with AFU personnel. In the #Krynki area, an AFU helicopter was reported shot down by the 337th Airborne Regiment. Satellite images of the enemy indicate severe destruction in the locality as a result of the constant work of our aviation and artillery.
▪️ On the #Zaporozhye front, as a result of a short battle, an enemy infantry attack was repelled near #Verbovoye. At #Rabotino our troops are seizing the initiative and trying to move forward, retaking positions.
▪️ In #Maryinka, the RF Armed Forces are consolidating their positions and expanding their zone of control south of the town, trying to create conditions for reaching the #Pobeda settlement. It is necessary to occupy the heights and strongholds of the enemy.
▪️ In the #Avdeyevka sector, our troops are attacking on the northern edge of the front near #Stepovoye, advancing through the forest plantations. Due to the fact that the RF Armed Forces are exerting constant pressure on the enemy's defence in this direction, the AFU has transferred reserves to the villages of #Berdychi and #Novokalinovo. They report the use of heavy flame-throwing systems against enemy positions.
▪️ North of #Soledar our troops are pressing the enemy near #Razdolovka. Battles are taking place near #Bogdanovka (northwest of #Artyomovsk), which are important for the further offensive on Chasov Yar. The settlement has an elongated layout, passes to #Kalinovo, which in the future will allow us to reach the outskirts of Chasov Yar. Fighting continues to the north of #Kleshcheyevka.
💥 During the night, the enemy fired three rockets at #Mariupol. In #Donetsk, 17 civilians were wounded during the day. Shelling of border areas in the #Belgorod region continues.

🔹In #Zaporozhye Direction, both sides are in active defence with localised battles, trying to improve their positions near #Rabotino and #Verbovoye, without large-scale actions. The work of artillery remains dense on both sides. It remains to be seen whether this section of the front will stabilise in its current position or whether our army will continue to take back positions along the #Rabotino - #Novoprokopovka - #Verbovoye line.

▪️ In the #Kherson direction, the drone war continues. The enemy has concentrated units of UAV operators against #Krynki, inflicts constant strikes, and supplies each boat with electronic warfare equipment, which makes it difficult to use our FPVs. Yesterday, on the shore of the enemy, Ka-52 helicopters struck a light multi-purpose guided missile (LMUR, "Izdeliye 305") at a deployment point of AFU UAV operators, the crew was destroyed.
▪️ The #Zaporozhye front without significant changes. FABS with UMPC regularly arrive at the AFU, our artillery is working. The AFU fired at #Tokmak twice from MLRS, it is reported that the shells were shot down by air defence.

🔹In #Zaporozhye Direction, our forces are heavily fighting for #Rabotino, both sides are digging into the positions. So far it is known that ours in fierce fighting have reached the geographical outskirts of the village from the west, south and southeast. The AFU positions are already being attacked from three sides. Advancement is also recorded near #Verbovoye.

💥The AFU struck #Makeyevka with MLRS today, damaged an oil depot, there is a wounded man. Three children in #Panteleymonovka and a resident of #Donetsk were injured. Furthermore they tried to attack a civilian facility in #Mariupol by a British kamikaze drone with 7 kg of explosives. It was intercepted and landed. #Ukraine reports that they have shot down two more Russian aircraft. So far it is known that our plane was shot down near #Mariupol. Moreover, according to the first version, by our own air defence. The MoD refrains from commenting which is not a good trend.
🎯Our Forces hit In #Kramatorsk enterprises used by the AFU to create armored parts for military equipment. In one of the hangars, a Bradley IFV was covered. In #Lvov, an enterprise producing drones burned at night. They write that the underground put down their security and set the plant on fire.

🔹In the #Kharkov direction, the enemy, despite losses, is trying to organise counterattacks and retake the occupied territories. There are reports of the use of HIMARS, including in the #Belgorod region border area. Local reports describe the fighting in #Volchansk as fierce, with our units storming the Aggregate Plant and the area of multi-storey buildings. On the #Liptsy direction, our attackers advanced in the forest belt southeast of #Glubokoye, full control over this area will open the road to #Liptsy.
🔹In #ChasovYar d,irection, our troops cover the eastern microdistrict of the town, dachas in the northeast are occupied. Even further north there are battles in the area of #Bogdanovka. Our aviation is striking west of the Seversky Donets-Donbass Canal.
🔹West of #Avdeyevka, there is fighting northwest of #Ocheretino in the direction of #Novoaleksandrovka. It is reported that advanced RFAF units are marching towards the #Sokol settlement, the enemy has pulled up MLRS and is using a lot of FPVs. Offensive actions continue in the area of liberated #Netaylovo and #Umanskoye.
🔹In the #SouthDonetsk direction, the RFAF are fighting on the eastern outskirts of #Paraskoviyivka, expanding the zone of control south of #Novomikhaylovka.
🔹On the #Zaporozhye front, west of #Nesteryanka, units of the Russian Army are consolidating after a spurt and occupation of several enemy strongholds. The enemy is responding with artillery fire with cluster munitions and drone strikes.
🔹In the #Kherson direction, heavy fighting is taking place on the islands. The enemy is forced to withdraw the remaining small assault groups from #Krynki to the island zone, saturates the defence with hundreds of FPV-drones. The actions of the sides in the river floodplain are reduced to identifying each other's forces, primarily by boat, and destroying their FPVs. Our aviation and artillery are ironing out the enemy bank. 🎬👇
💥Terrorist shelling of the #Belgorod region does not stop. The enemy is purposefully knocking out civilian petrol stations, agricultural enterprises and equipment, power lines, and is trying to inflict economic damage. In the Shebekinsky urban district in #Voznesenovka, 3 civilians were wounded as a result of the fall of submunitions with subsequent detonation. #Murom was also hit. In #Shebekino, six victims were taken to medical centres by ambulance crews. In Grayvoron Urban District, kamikaze UAVs attacked #Dronovka, in the village of #Golovchino two kamikaze drones alternately attacked a petrol station. In #Bezymeno village, a drone dropped an explosive device on a car parked in the courtyard of an apartment block. In #Golovchino a drone detonated near a grocery shop. A civilian was wounded. In #Grayvoron, three cars were damaged as a result of an attack by three kamikaze drones on the territory of a company.
💥In #Kursk region, #Tyotkino and #Politotdelsky, #Yelizavetovka of Glushkovsky district, #Gornal, #Sverdlikovo and #Kurilovka of Sudzhansky district, #Gordeyevka of Korenevsky district, #Milayevka village of Belovsky district were shelled. AFU drones attacked the Titova Farms of the Rylsky district, #Volfino of the Glushkovsky district, #Guyevo and #Lebedevka of the Suzhansky district, and #Gordeyevka.
🛡Electronic warfare means and small arms fire suppressed and destroyed 14 Ukrainian drones in the border areas.
💥In the #DPR, 8 civilians were wounded. #Makeyevka and #Panteleymonovka were shelled. In #Mariupol, three workers were injured as a result of the detonation of an explosive object while clearing the area. During an enemy attack on the Khartsyzsk steel wire and rope plant “Silur”, 2 employees of the enterprise were injured. 24 shellings were recorded from the AFU side, 53 ammunition were fired. The enemy used rocket artillery (HIMARS), 155 mm calibre artillery, including cluster-type artillery, and attack UAVs.

🔹Russian Troops, over the past day, launched attacks on the military and energy infrastructure of the so-called #Ukraine in #Volyn, #Vinnitsa, #Lvov and Ivano-Frankovsk regions. In turn, the enemy attempted to attack Russian military installations in the #Mariupol area.
🔹On the #Kharkov front, the RFAF are repelling enemy counterattacks in #Volchansk and on the approaches to #Glubokoye. Despite their numerical superiority, the AFU are unable to turn the situation in their favour.
🔹In #Bakhmut direction, there are battles in the Kanal Microdistrict in #ChasovYar. The status of #Kleshcheyevka and #Andreyevka is still unclear.
🟡 In the far south, Russian troops liberated the village of #Shumy. There are also contradictory information about the advance of the RFAF in #Pivnichnoye. However, it is not possible to confirm them with objective control personnel.
🔹On the South #Avdeyevka front, there are battles in #Krasnogorovka, where Russian stormtroopers are squeezing the enemy out of the private sector in the west of the town.
