🎆 Man has progressed in the worldly sense but morally he has regressed. He is not able to give up his narrow-mindedness and criticism of others. If one enquires into the reason for this, one will realise that one’s selfishness and self-interest are the cause for this. Man does not love objects or individuals for their sake; he does so for his self-interest. All his thoughts, words and deeds are motivated by selfishness. He has been reduced to a mere bundle of desires. He is spending all his time and effort in fulfilling his desires. He is under the mistaken notion that fulfilment of desires will confer happiness on him. He should realise that only annihilation of desires will lead him to ultimate bliss. True happiness lies in the state of desirelessness.
🎆 بشر از لحاظ احساسات مادي ترقي كرده، اما از نظر اخلاقي سير نزولي داشته. او قادر نيست كوته فكري و انتقادش نسبت به ديگران را ترك كند. اگر كسي دليل آن را بپرسد، خواهد فهميد كه خودخواهي و غرايض شخصي اش دليل اينهاست. بشر چيزها و انسانها را به خاطر خود آنها نيست كه دوست دارد؛ او به خاطر نفع شخصي خودش آنها را دوست دارد. همه افكار، گفتار، و اعمالش از خودخواهي نشات مي گيرد. او محدود به يك سري خواسته ها و تمايلات شده. او همه وقت و تلاش خويش را صرف رسيدن به خواسته هايش مي كند. او تحت اين تصور غلط قرار گرفته كه رسيدن به همه خواسته ها به او خوشبختي مي بخشد. او بايد بفهمد كه تنها نابودي خواسته ها او را به سعادت جاودان رهنمون مي سازد. خوشبختي حقيقي در مرحله بي آرزويي است.
