A young man and a girl in Qena governorate committed suicide last Friday after eating poisonous grains, after their parents refused to marry them.

Investigations revealed that the young people “Sharif. A” is 24 years old, and the girl “Malak” 23 years old, and a report of the incident was written, and was referred to the Criminal Investigation Department to intensify efforts and uncover the circumstances of the incident.

The yield pill is used as an insecticide and is relied on in Egypt due to its low price, and dozens of Arab countries have banned its use after causing an increase in child mortality as a result of accidental ingestion.

It is noteworthy that a study prepared by the Secretariat of Mental Health and Addiction Treatment at the Egyptian Ministry of Health showed that 29.2% of secondary school students suffer from psychological problems, and 21.

Dr. Ahmed Fathy Sorour, the last speaker of the Egyptian parliament under the late President Hosni Mubarak, died on Saturday morning at the age of 92.

Born on July 9, 1932, in Qena Governorate, Sorour is considered one of the prominent figures in the field of law in Egypt and held the presidency of the People’s Assembly in Egypt for a full 20 years, from 1991 until 2011.

During his lifetime, Srour wrote a series of legal books that are considered an essential reference for law students, most notably “The Theory of Invalidity in the Code of Criminal Procedure”, a doctoral thesis published in 1959.

Sorour played prominent roles in the development of legal and criminal thought in Egypt and received the State Encouragement Award in Criminal Law and Criminology in 1963 for his book “Judicial Test”.

The Egyptian authorities deported 700 Sudanese who entered its territory illegally, and they were transported through the Arqin border crossing between the two countries.

These Sudanese had infiltrated Egypt through smuggling corridors, taking advantage of mafia networks that transported them under difficult circumstances to the Egyptian border, without legal papers proving their entry into the country through legal means.

The Egyptian authorities reported that the deported Sudanese were transported by 10 buses, including dozens of families, including many children and the elderly.

Two days ago, the authorities seized 7 buses loaded with Sudanese as they attempted to enter Egypt illegally on the outskirts of Qena Governorate in Upper Egypt.
