🔻It is believed that this water has healing properties.
🔻On Epiphany (January 19), Epiphany bathing is held throughout Russia. For this purpose, special ice holes are made in lakes and rivers.
🔻People believe that such a ritual cleanses the soul and brings them closer to God, although swimming in cold water on Epiphany is not a church rite.
🔻 Vladimir Putin also takes part in Epiphany bathing (see the video in the comments)

• Идея всеобщего разоружения
[i-de-ya fsi-ob-shche-va ra-za-ru-zhe-ni-ya]
🇬🇧 The idea of general disarmament
🔻Russian Emperor Nicholas II first proposed to the world the idea of general disarmament. He put forward such a proposal at the conference of European heads of state on arms limitation that he convened in The Hague in 1898.
🔻He claimed that forces and capital wasted on excessive weapons could be used for education and development of the well-being of the people.
🔻Europe admired the generosity of the Russian Sovereign, but accepted the idea itself very restrainedly.
📎 In the context of the general rhetoric of modern European countries, which are going to create an army to fight Russia over the next 5 years, this idea is very relevant now.
