[f svoy razhdestvenskiy padarak]
For my Christmas present

  [ oj maros maros]

🔻This song is considered to be a folk one. However, Maria Morozova-Uvarova, the former soloist of the Voronezh Russian Folk Choir, claimed that she wrote this song on one of the cold December days of 1954.

🔻Surprisingly, this song is still very popular with Russians! This year it will be 70 years since the song appeared.

How to use songs to develop your language skills:

1. Listen to the song (Russian + transliteration + English), mind the new words in it. Write them down and try to memorize them.

2. Start listening to the song (Russian + transliteration).
Sing along.

3. Listen to the version (only Russian words) several times.
Sing along.

4. Listen to the song without looking at the text.
Sing along!

Good luck!

Versions (Russian + transliteration) and (Russian text only) are in the comments to the post👇.

"Берёзы" группа ЛЮБЭ

❤️ The song is а gentle, melodious tune, filled with Russianness and soulfulness.

🔻The song “Birch trees” by the group “Lubeh” was included in the soundtrack of the television series "Участок" (Precinct) with Sergey Bezrukov, which premiered on Channel One in 2003.

🔻Later, director Vasily Blednov shot a video for this composition, in which the characters of the film and Nikolai Rastorguev (the leader of Lubeh) crossed paths.

The Russian text (with stressed syllables) is in the comments 👇.

  [ ne-ba sla-vyan]

🔻'Sky of the Slavs' is an amazing patriotic song by a well-known heavy-metal band 'Alica' (2003)

🔻Sky of the Slavs” has become a kind of marching song - the rhythm of which is very convenient for performing as a march, so many soldiers of Russian military units sang it in chorus.

🔻Despite the ambiguous attitude towards the song, this popular composition has been covered many times by a variety of performers: from girls from the Chuvash group “Fedorino Gore” and a children’s choir to pop-folk projects like “Ros”.

Transliteration and the Russian text are in the comments 👇.

  [ka-tyu-sha]

🔻Катюша is a diminutive form of Екатерина, (Yekaterina, Catherine).

🔻It is a Soviet-era folk-based song and military march composed by Matvey Blanter in 1938, with lyrics in Russian written by the Soviet poet Mikhail Isakovsky.

🔻It gained its fame during World War II as a patriotic song, inspiring people to serve and defend their Motherland. The song is still remembered and sung in Russia.

🔻The song is the source of the nickname of the BM-8, BM-13, and BM-31 "Katyusha" rocket launchers that were used by the Red Army in World War II.

  [nam nuzh-na ad-na pa-be-da]
SLT: We Need Only Victory

🔻One of the most appealing songs about the Great Patriotic War, 'Нам нужна одна победа' which turned out to be very actual nowadays, was written by the poet and composer Bulat Okudzhava for Andrei Smirnov’s film 'Белорусский Вокзал' (Belorussky Station), which was released in 1971.

🔻The All-Russian musical project "Музыка вместе" sang this song with the military personnel involved in the special military operation, as well as with the residents of the new regions reunited with Russia (Donetsk, Lugansk,  Khersonskaya and Zaporozhskaya Regions).

🔻Listen, learn new words, practice and sing along.

📎 In the video I've added the approximate translation of the song:
1 line is in Russian
2 line is phonetic transliteration
3 line is in English

   [tyom-na-ya noch]
   Dark is the night

'Dark is the night' is a lyrical song composed by Nikita Bogoslovsky in 1943 for the Soviet movie about Great Patriotic War 'Two soldiers'.

  [rus']
  Rus'

Also:
  [sve-ta-ya rus']
  Saint Rus'

  [ra-si-ya]
  Russia

🔻The ancient common name of our state in the XI-XIV centuries was the word '

🔻The word 'Россия' has been regularly used in writing since the 15th century. The sound similarity of these words is not accidental: it is explained by the fact that 'Россия' ultimately goes back to the word 'Русь'.

🔻At the same time, the history of the word 'Россия' reflects the centuries-old cultural and historical relationship between Rus' (Russia) and the Byzantine Empire.

🔻The name 'Россия' goes back to the Greek 'Росиа' (Rosia) - this is how the name of the state of Rus' was conveyed in the Byzantine Empire from the 10th century.

🔻From the end of the 15th century, the term 'Россия' began to be used as the self-name of the Russian state with its center in Moscow.

This is a video clip of the Rybachev family, the finalists of 'Это у нас семейное' the “It’s a family thing” competition.

🔻The video for the song “Lucky” starred mom, dad, their five children, as well as grandparents.

🔻When the Rybachevs told the president about this hit, he asked to send him the song so that it would be shown in the media and “played” on the radio.

Chorus:
🇷🇺

🇬🇧
I am lucky,
Because I have a big family.
I am lucky,
Because Russia is my homeland.
I am lucky
And I thank heaven for this,
I am lucky,
I sparkle like fire with joy!
