Despite the pandemic and the gathering ban, more than a hundred police officers, including riot police and Special Tactical Squad were standing-by on the scene, some holding warning flags while plainclothed offiers were taking video.
5 minutes later, police officers entered the shopping mall and set up cordon lines on each floor, dispersing shoppers on the scene. Some shops have been closed already.
Around the atrium of IFC, police commander ordered civilians to leave or they could be charged and fined for violating the gathering ban.

During āShop With Youā today (28 Apr), riot police set up a cordon line in the shopping mall. They intercepted a woman while doing so.
Meanwhile, Legislator Hui Chi-fung was standing nearby, ensuring that the police did not overstep their boundaries. However, he was asked to step back. Hui did not comply, and argued that police should be transparent while carrying out their duties, and they should be be asking legislators to step away.
Moments later, a group of police pushed Hui away, causing him to be a distance away from where the police were.

Interestingly, Israel has introduced similar regulations, and a protest against their Government was held in Tel Aviv in compliance, with everyone standing 2 metres apart on a square grid.
A square grid isn't optimal, by the way: you can pack in an extra roughly 15% (2/SQRT(3)) if you stand on a triangular grid, so that each person (or gathering), apart from the edge-cases, is equidistant to 6 other people. Just pick 2 other people and stand on the corner of an equilateral triangle with them, and your grid will self-assemble. And yes, if you stare at it hard, you should see something recognisable to most Israelis.//

Ex-lawmaker Lee Cheuk-yan, who formerly headed the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China, was fined and jailed at Eastern Magistratesā Court on Thursday for the aviation offence and obstructing police.
The 65-year-old was convicted on two charges ā flying a balloon exceeding two metres in controlled airspace, and obstructing a police officer.
Magistrate Jacky Ip fined him HK$3,500 for violating the aviation order and imposed a prison term of three weeks for obstruction. Two of the three weeks will run consecutively with the current jail term Lee is serving.//

//Hong Kongās high-profile subversion case involving 47 leading democrats has been adjourned to June 2022, days after a court judgement revealed at least 11 of them would plead guilty to the offence under the Beijing-imposed #NationalSecurityLaw.
Most of the group have been held in custody since their arrest in February last year and their cases have been repeatedly adjourned. Only 13 of them have been granted bail.
The democrats, accused of conspiracy to commit subversion, appeared before Principal Magistrate Peter Law on Thursday. The court is handling proceedings to commit them to the High Court, where the maximum penalty is life in prison.
Unlike previous hearings, the courtroom was relatively quiet when the democrats were escorted to the dock by corrections officers. Their family and friends, who took up most seats in the public gallery, only waved at the group and made hand gestures.
Court attendees have been less vocal since six people were arrested earlier this month under the colonial-era sedition law for allegedly causing nuisance during a hearing. One of the arrestees, citizen journalist Siew Yun-long ā better known as Siu Wan ā also attended Thursdayās hearing.//
