#FullMooninHongKong

On the night of a full moon, our thoughts are with the 12 HKers who are separated from their families while being detained in China.

We can only pray for their safety and long for their returns.

The Stand News has followed up with 594 of the concluded cases, in an attempt to figure out the truth: Were the arrests excessive?

Don't be mistaken, Carrie Lam is not the Chief Executive of Hong Kong. She is the Chief Executive Puppet from China.

Hong Kong as we know is slowly disappearing in all aspects. It seems like there will be no more "Hong Kong" in the future, only "Hong Kong, China".

How many more will they put behind bars? The HK government is imprisoning anyone who goes against them, trying hard to silence HKer's cries for freedom and democracy.

How many of these have we lost? Hong Kong is no longer Hong Kong.

Exiled Hong Kong lawmaker moves to Australia to boost global pro-democracy effort

Fugitive Hong Kong legislator #TedHui exiled in the UK since December 2020 wrote on his Facebook that he will settle and carry on lobbying work in Australia.

Hui explained that there are fewer full-time Hong Kong political figures in Australia lobbying for stronger international responses against the national security laws in Hong Kong.

Hui continued saying that Australia and New Zealand are important members of the Five Eye intelligence sharing group, consisting of also the United States, United Kingdom and Canada, which have supported the pro-democracy movement in Hong Kong.

"I hope that my lobbying work will bring tougher stance among Australia and New Zealand against China," Hui wrote in the post.

Hui said that he “took in many considerations” before making the move. Among them were strategies for advocacy work and the long-term development of his family.

Hui’s wife, his son and daughter have been in exile with him since he fled Hong Kong three months ago.

“I believe it is important for Hong Kong exiles like me to be in different parts of the world, on different continents,” Hui said, stressing he would be wherever people need him.

Tears Shed at Premier of PolyU Siege Documentary in London

The documentary "Inside the Red Brick Wall" was shown in the Open City documentary festival in London on September 11. The film captured one of the most aggressive crackdowns of Hongkonger's fight for democracy during the anti-Extradition movement in 2019, the police siege against protesters in Polytechnic University (#PolyU).

Many Hongkongers that have recently arrived in the UK went to see this documentary. Among them was a pro-democracy supporters, K, who said she took part in one of the demonstrations near the university. K told reporters that the documentary has brought back memories of the crackdown and her involvement in those demonstrations.

She was very saddened because she knew that those endured the sufferings during the siege were ordinary youngsters, real people with flesh and blood. She couldn't help but shed tears as she watched the documentary.

K acknowledged that the screening in UK did provide a platform for Hongkongers to get together, so that they knew they were not alone and can seek support when needed.

She hopes for the documentary to be shown in other countries, to let the world better understand what is happening in Hong Kong. She believes that the question-and-answer session at the end of the show helped local people understand what Hong Kong people has gone through during the movement.

Disappearing pro-democracy "Yellow Art". Do you still remember him?

Hidobo is a street artist in Hong Kong, who quietly records historic moments of the Hong Kong #AntiELABmovement with spray. Yet, his visa will soon expire on February 9. Without an extension, he has to leave Hong Kong by then.

#Hidobo will not set up his street stall at Mong Kok anymore. If you happen to see him around the corner of the street, leave him alone. Let him enjoy the remaining few days in Hong Kong.

Had a conversation with Hidobo. He is strong-minded. He has been rejected for visa extension for multiple times. If he decides not to leave, he will be arrested. If he decides to leave, he doesn’t know where to go.

His homeland is politically unstable and facing a war. He does not have a clear idea of his future once he is forced out of Hong Kong.

"I have no idea where I can go next, probably #Ukraine. I am still unsure."

"The HK authorities do not let me stay. They refused to extend my visa. So, I must leave before February 9. I tried to discuss this with staff member of HK authorities with a hope to extend my visa. But I was rejected. I have no other choice but leave before my visa expires."

"I thought about coming back to Hong Kong. But I could be blacklisted. It is likely that I will not be allowed to come back. I do want to return to Hong Kong."

"There are so many uncertainties in life that I don't even know what will happen next."

Hongkongers in Nottingham gather in remembrance of Pro-democracy protests at home

On the eve of Chinese New Year (January 30), around 400 Hongkongers in Nottingham came together to tell people in UK about China's tyranny in Hong Kong, arresting and silencing dissidents.

A miniature of the Pillar of Shame, a sculpture made to honour victims of Tiananmen Square Massacre in Beijing on June 4, 1989, was shown in the gathering and street stalls were set up to show how citizens in Hong Kong rose to protest for democracy and freedom in past several years.

Pro-democracy street artist expelled in Hong Kong

Hong Kong authorities earlier denied a visa extension for a Ukraine-born street artist, Vladimir Grankovsky (aka Vladi or Hidobo), and ordered him to leave Hong Kong by the end of January 2022.

On February 7, 2022, it was reported that Vladi’s Instagram account has gone disappeared. Until late evening on the same day, Vladi wrote again on his IG page, saying that he was arrested the night before and was escorted to a plane and deported by immigration officers.

Vladi’s arrest was suspected to be related to his artwork selling at iSquare in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong.

Vladi wrote on his IG page that he will release details about his arrest later. He also apologized to his supporters for the artwork delivery delays.
