#NBA forbids #EnesKanter from wearing custom shoes with messages criticising China's human rights abuse
Boston Celtics center Enes Kanter has always been vocal about human rights abuses in China on social media.
He also worn custom shoes every game in support of the citizens of Tibet, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Xinjiang seeking sovereignty from Chinese rule.
Designed by Chinese artist #Badiucao, the sneakers have featured a host of pointed messages: "Free China," "Taiwan belongs to the Taiwanese people," "Free Hong Kong," "Free Uyghur," "No Beijing 2022," "Stop genocide, torture, rape, slave labor," "Stop organ harvesting in China," "Close the camps" and "Modern-day slavery."
"I've been talking about all the human rights violations and injustices happening in Turkey for 10 years, and I did not get one phone call," Kanter said in an interview.
"I talk about China one day, and I was getting a phone call once every two hours." Kanter did not clarify who is calling him.

He recently published a post on #Twitter that China cannot affect the US externally but internally. He uses #NBA as an example -- he was a basketball player being sold to #HoustonRockets, then soon be a free agent. The whole process is only 10 minutes.
During the #AntiELAB movement in Hong Kong in 2019, the then-Houston Rockets manager once confessed before the CCP government due to showing support to HKers.
