#June16 #NeverForget #HongKongProtests

United We Stand, Divided We Fall

"Never forget the the original intention” is not just a slogan,
We've shouted it on the Hong Kong Island,
We've shouted it in Kowloon,
We've shouted it in the New Territories.
Do you still remember the Five Demands?
Do you still remember our injured or lost brothers?
“We strive hard in our own way”
“No splitting up or distancing from each other”
How many HongKongers still remember these?
I love Hong Kong,
And I love everyone who walks by my side.

A Name Not Often Heard, But Never Forgotten

On Nov 4, 2019, 22-year-old university student Chow Tsz-Lok fell from a carpark in Tseung Kwan O with severe injuries during police operation nearby. Riot police blocked nearby roads and turned away ambulances, delaying paramedics from attending to the injured Chow by over 20 minutes.

Reports and footage showed police were already in the carpark before his fall, and even interfered with first-aiders on the scene. Tsz-Lok passed away in hospital 4 days later on November 8.

10 months has passed but the cause of Tsz-lok's fatal fall remains unknow.

The Coroner's court is set to hold a pre-inquest review for his case on Sept 16.

May Tsz-Lok rest in peace.

May the truth be uncovered.

Police Bar citizens from Commemorating Deceased Protesters

Sept 8, 2020 marked 10 months since the passing of Chow Tsz-lok, a 22-year-old student of HK University of Science and Technology (#HKUST) on Nov 8, 2019. He sustained severe head injuries after falling from height at a car park during a pro-democracy protest.

HKUST students' union called on citizens not to forget Chow. Many citizens went on their own and lay white flowers at the carpark. Since early this evening, at least 4 police vehicles were prominently stationed nearby and over 30 armed police, some with pepper ball guns, patrolled around the area.

Whenever a slightly bigger group of citizens appeared, police yelled, “don’t stop, keep walking.” When citizens tried to light a candle after laying flowers, public relations officers stopped them instantly, “you are here to pay tribute, don’t build anything unnecessary."

HK Old Man Weeps Before Deceased Protesters' Altar: "We will avenge you, we must avenge you"

At 20:09 on Sept 8, 2020, Hongkongers observed a minute of silence for 22-year-old student Chow Tsz-lok who passed away 10 months ago on the same day after falling from height during police operation.

Citizens set up an altar to commemorate Chow outside the carpark where he fell. People lit candles and lay flowers despite police surveillance and interference.

Into the evening, an elderly man, with the support of a walking stick, slowly came before the altar. He put his palms together and bowed while shedding tears.

He said to the altar in a sorrowful voice, "we will avenge you, we must avenge you".
