You can have even more fake frames now, folks! Up to three made up frames for every real frame, yay? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQn3bsPNTyI #NVIDIA@GameDEV #Hardware@GameDEV
Fortunately, there are good news too: DLSS now supports the OVERRIDE feature, to change DLSS in games where developers haven't updated it.

And the DLSS itself will use an absolutely new algorithm (which is faster and more stable). They reached the limits of what Convolutional Neural Networks can do and switched to Transformer Model (I haven't heard of). We need more independent reviews to see what it means and how it looks.

Meanwhile, several Ryzen CPUs are affected by Core Communication Latency all thanks to their BigLittle architecture with several powerful cores and several light ones. Intel faced the same with their 13/14+ generations, Qualcomm faced it like a decade ago on mobile.

Ryzen had similar issues before on their chips with two dies (CCDs). But it was less noticeable, since all cores were identical.

Why do we hit the same issues again and again? How manufacturers discover even worse versions of previous issues?

Wait, how dangerous is it? In certain games and workflows it can noticeably limit the performance or cause stutters. The issue can't be fixed completely on software level, but can be covered up partially by better drivers and microcode.

Here are some numbers: Shader Cores performance hasn't changed since the previous generation. Which means, that these cards will only show a noticeable boost with Frame Generation.

Meanwhile: we could have 20 more memorable games for that budget!

Which also proves rumors that GTA VI already passed $1B in production costs alone and may reach $2B in development + marketing on release.

Fun fact: my first tablet was Notion Ink Adam β€” a unique device from Bangalore, made with a hybrid display, that combined TFT and E-Ink qualities. It was capable of reflecting the light and looked like a paper on a sunny day.

Which made it exceptional for books and manga reading. And it was perfect to work with Emails, Social Networks, etc.

It was based on a dual core NVIDIA Tegra platform and was fairly capable for its time. I still keep it in my collection just for fun.

Unfortunately, the startup behind the screen technology went bankrupt and modern screens can't reflect the light β€” they have to boost brightness. And a few years later Notion Ink was also closed. And after that all tablets became boring.

😲 What a twist:

Annapurna failed to save its gaming division, so they all left and got another indie label from another greedy corporation under their control?

Here's the example of Indie Games Marketing: he emailed 400 influencers and got quite some wishlists from it.

Not the highest conversion rate ever and it can be way better if the game looks good, it works for streaming (fun/scary/etc), can be a meme, or if it is already getting attention in media.

His game is cool, but it's dark and not very suitable for steaming, memes, etc.

Unity swapped Apply and Revert buttons in their UI between 2022 and Unity 6 for no reason. The change makes users accidentally reverse changes.
