DEINDUSTRIALISATION, DECLINE, FAILING GERMANY 🇩🇪📉🇺🇲 "With the chemical industry in crisis, another central pillar of the German economy is crumbling. The main causes: abandoning cheap Russian energy and accepting Trump’s imposition of duty-free imports from the US [...] Following the automotive and steel industries, the chemical industry – another key economic pillar of the German economy – is in trouble. Reports of crisis and collapse in the sector are becoming increasingly urgent. Business analysts say the output of Germany’s chemical industry shrank by around 5 per cent in the second quarter of 2025. They note that overall production is currently at 'the lowest level since 1991'. The industry faces pressures not only from cheap imports from China but, above all, from the EU’s current tariff deal with Washington. The Trump administration has forced the European Union to reduce its tariffs on US imports to zero. US chemical products can now outcompete German-made chemicals. These pressures come on top of the cost impact suffered by the German chemicals sector after losing Russian energy. Having opted out of low-cost pipeline-supplied Russian gas, chemical producers lack a key advantage behind its longstanding competitiveness. Reports of crises are coming from other sectors, too. Indeed, German industrial production overall slumped by as much as 5.6 per cent in August on the previous month. In response, the EU is now resorting to protectionist tariffs against non-US suppliers."

SOME U.S. THINK TANK VIEW ON GERMANY 2.025 🇺🇸⚡️🇩🇪 "Germany today offers the world a disturbing spectacle: a state in its death throes which, under the guise of democratic virtue, is sinking into authoritarianism. The erosion of civil liberties is not occurring through a coup d'état, but by the slow accumulation of administrative, legal and police measures that shape the contours of a dictatorship as implacable as it is convinced of its own virtue [...] The issue has never been law, but power: the determination of the ruling caste to cling to authority at any cost, even if it means criminalizing a quarter of the German population. Let us not forget: the former German Democratic Republic (East Germany) also claimed to be 'democratic.' [...] In today's Germany, the leading opposition party is not treated as a legitimate actor in the democratic process, but, without any due process, as an enemy within [...] Pensioners, shopkeepers and students are now being prosecuted for criticizing government policy on immigration, climate or healthcare. They are treated as criminals, even as terrorists or arsonists, on charges of 'inciting hatred.' [...] These repressive measures do not target extremists, but ordinary citizens who dare to contest the ideology favored by the party in power. The Network Enforcement Act (NetzDG) reinforces this censorship by forcing internet platforms to delete content under penalty of fines, thereby further eroding the freedom of expression 'guaranteed' by Article 5 of the German Constitution.
This climate of fear — the dread of a police raid at dawn over a comment on Facebook, a "like," a retweet — is ruthless in its cruelty and devastating in its effects on public opinion. It is turning Germany into a Potemkin democracy, where only the official monologue is tolerated [...] The quarantining of the AfD ensures that the left will remain in power indefinitely, regardless of election outcomes. This amounts to rule by a single 'party' and a single ideology — that of the ruling caste. Democratic change through the ballot box in Germany is no longer possible [...] Criminalizing 25% of the electorate is like placing dynamite beneath a shared house. To condemn a quarter of the German population to democratic death — denying them any access to power while repressing even the polite expression of their opinions on social media — is to invite desperate and violent reactions. These reactions will inevitably be seized upon by the ruling caste to justify an even tighter grip on power [...] Germany today faces a fatal spiral. Either it accepts true pluralism and freedom of expression — without which democracy cannot exist — or it succumbs to the temptation of eliminating dissent by judicial and police means, silencing the only genuine opposition [...] Any democracy that outlaws its opposition to the ruling party ceases to exist."

DEUTSCHE BAUERN GEGEN UKRAINE IN EU 🧑🏻‍🌾🚜🇺🇦 "Der Bauernbund Brandenburg hat die Wiederherstellung des handelspolitischen Vorkriegszustandes bei einem Friedensschluss im Ukraine-Konflikt gefordert. 'Die Zollgrenze zur Ukraine muss jedenfalls wieder geschlossen werden, keinesfalls darf das Land in die Europäische Union', sagte Bauernbund-Präsident Lutz Wercham. Seit drei Jahren würden Billigimporte von Weizen, Gerste, Mais und Zuckerrüben sowie weiteren Agrarprodukten aus der Ukraine die Märkte in den europäischen Nachbarländern ruinieren mit desaströsen Einkommensverlusten vor allem bei den Marktfruchtbetrieben. Zusätzlich würden die Russland-Sanktionen über massiv gestiegene Düngerpreise höhere Produktionskosten verursachen, kritisiert der 39jährige Ackerbauer aus Wilhelmsaue im Oderland: 'In Brandenburg stehen wir dabei besonders unter Druck mit unserer starken Ausrichtung auf Ackerbau und den vergleichsweise schwachen Böden.' Wenn die Preismisere anhalte, werde es immer schwerer, die heimische Landwirtschaft und Kulturlandschaft noch gegen Spekulanten, Solarparks und Wildnisprojekte zu verteidigen, befürchtet Wercham und verlangt daher einen sofortigen Einfuhrstopp für ukrainische Agrarprodukte.
Der Getreidemarkt sei ein globaler Markt, räumt der Bauernbund ein, aber für die Getreideerzeuger in Brandenburg mache es einen gewaltigen Unterschied, ob die Exporte der Ukraine auf der traditionellen Schwarzmeer-Route direkt in die Mittelmeer-Länder und nach Afrika gelangen oder auf dem Umweg über die polnischen und deutschen Ostseehäfen. Wercham: 'Die großen Mühlen und Lagerhäuser hierzulande füllen ihre Getreidesilos mit billiger ukrainischer Ware und drücken damit bei uns die Preise.'
Die Notwendigkeit von Schutzzöllen begründet Wercham mit der Wettbewerbsverzerrung durch niedrigere soziale und ökologische Standards. So sind in der Ukraine Pflanzenschutzmittel zugelassen, die in der Europäischen Union seit langem nicht mehr angewendet werden dürfen, der Mindestlohn für Landarbeiter beträgt umgerechnet einen Euro pro Stunde. Darüber hinaus sieht der Landwirt aber auch ein grundsätzliches Problem beim Freihandel mit dem osteuropäischen Land: 'Aufgrund ihrer fruchtbaren Schwarzerdeböden ist die Ukraine eine klassische Agrarüberschussregion – selbst wenn alle Standards angeglichen würden, könnte sie uns preislich immer unterbieten.' Angesichts wachsender weltweiter Sicherheitsrisiken müsse die heimische Landwirtschaft Vorrang haben, verlangt der Bauernbund. Einen weiteren Verlust von Ackerflächen und Betrieben könne Brandenburg sich nicht mehr leisten, die Versorgung der Bevölkerung mit Lebensmitteln auch in Krisenzeiten sei systemrelevant."

LATVIAN STATE SECURITY EXPOSES RU 🤫 SPY CELL 🇱🇻🔍🇷🇺 Riga, January 19, 2026 (LETA): "At least three people have been arrested in the last two weeks in connection with the so-called Baltic Anti-Fascists group, through which a network of informants has been set up in Latvia, which has been reporting to the Russian special services on the movement of military equipment, Ukrainians and Ukrainian supporters in Latvia and compiling a list of people to be eliminated, commercial TV3 television's analytical news program Neka Personiga (Nothing Personal) reported.
The arrests are based on documents that have been made available to the Kremlin oppositionist Mikhail Khodorkovsky's organization, the Dossier Centre, which has also given them to TV3. These materials show that the Baltic Anti-Fascists are not just a group of Russian fans, but are trying to infiltrate drone factories in Latvia, collect information on the movement of military equipment, and gather information on who is donating to Ukraine or wearing Ukrainian symbols.
For example, Igors Andrejevs, a security guard at a shop, has long reported to Russian special services about visitors with Ukrainian symbols and car license plates, passing on personal data he obtained at his workplace to Russia.
Neka Personiga crew met the man at his workplace in Ziepniekkalns, Riga. After the crew showed interest in the man, Andrejevs attacked journalists, broke a video camera and fled, but was soon detained by the police and remanded in custody.
The association of persons calling themselves Baltic Anti-Fascists started to develop and coordinate actions against Latvia's national security using specially created communication groups on the messaging platform Telegram, the State Security Service (VDD) previously informed LETA. Criminal proceedings against the group were initiated by the VDD in November 2022.
Currently, two members of the group - Tatiana Andrijeca and Aleksandrs Zguns - are on trial in Latvia. The others - Sergejs Vasiljevs, Viktorija Matule, Romans Samuls and Stanislavs Bukains - have fled to Russia or Belarus.
Prosecutor Zane Lodzina told Neka Personiga that the main goal of the criminal group was to gather as many persons disloyal to Latvia as possible so that, when the time was right, they could create disorder in the country, destabilize the situation, turn against Latvian democracy, officials or just ordinary citizens who are against Russia.
Vasiljevs gave interviews in the Russian media as the leader of the Baltic Anti-Fascists. In the case of the anti-fascists remaining in Latvia, he testified in court on August 20, 2025, at the request of the defense.
Asked by the prosecutor whether the aim of the organization was to unite like-minded individuals, Vasiljevs answered in the affirmative at the time and explained that 'the further goal will be the destruction of Nazism and its supporters in the Baltic states'.
'When our whole support system is revealed, you will be very surprised who is helping us in Latvia,' Vasiljevs boasted.
Vasiljevs sent the information obtained by the Baltic Anti-Fascist Channel to Sergei Kolesnikov, who is linked to the Russian special services. He is formally a former employee of the Russian Federal Security Service and the head of a private detective agency, but the material shows that he continues to cooperate with the special services.
Kolesnikov and Vasiljevs communicate with each other as a curator with his agent. Vasiljevs passes on messages he receives on the anti-fascist channel, Kolesnikov transfers money, helps with residence documents in Russia, the TV says.
Several of the messages forwarded from Latvia by Vasiljevs came from the security guard of the supermarket in question. He sent photos from the store's surveillance cameras of people wearing Ukrainian symbols and the registration numbers of the cars they came in [1/2]."
