▪️ After several unsuccessful attempts to break through the Russian Forces' defences "head-on", the Ukrainian command has switched to tactics involving small sabotage groups with artillery support.
▪️ Logistics links between the AFU and Sukhoy Stavok have been restored due to a reduction in the RF Armed Forces' "gutting" of fire. Ammunition and equipment are being actively moved to the vicinity of the settlement.
▪️ An additional platoon of the AFU's 46th Army has arrived in the #Belogorka area with ATGMs in service. The reconnaissance groups of the 46th Brigade are busy exploring weak points in the defences of the Russian Forces in the direction of #Kostromka and #Bruskinskoye.
One of these group was able to reach #Charivnoye in the #Kherson region almost unhindered by a cross-country vehicle. In addition, AFU assault troops are trying to break through the defences of Davydov Brod by attacking in small groups from the rear.

In the direction of #Zaporozhye, the AFU conducted reconnaissance battles before counterattacking in certain sections of the front.
▪️ On 3 October at 16:45, several detachments of the 2nd Battalion of the 65th Brigade and the 102nd Brigades of the Territorial Defense of the AFU, numbering about 80 infantry, reinforced by two tanks and BMPs, conducted a sortie to Russian positions near #Mirnoye.
Under the cover of mortar crews, the AFU assault groups attempted to capture the Russian Forces' stronghold, taking advantage of their numerical superiority.
The Russian Forces retreated to reserve positions to regroup and, after waiting out the tank reserve, launched a counteroffensive with artillery, MLRS and air support.
▪️ The Russian Forces destroyed 120 mm mortar positions as well as armoured vehicles. In addition, the positions of the 65th Brigade in #Zaliznychnoye and the 102nd Territirial Defence Brigade in #Charivnoye were hit.
Despite another AFU failure, attempts to storm Russian positions in the direction of #Zaporozhye continue. Yesterday, the AFU conducted a small offensive to reconnoitre the state of the Russian Forces' defences.
Against the backdrop of the ratification of the agreement on the annexation of the #Zaporozhye region to Russia, Ukrainian formations are planning a large-scale offensive on the most vulnerable parts of the front in the coming days.

After several failed attempts to storm the Russian positions in Davydov Brod head-on, the Ukrainian commanders switched to consistently probing the defensive lines of the Russian Forces.
▪️ On the night of October 3 to 4, combined detachments of the 46th Brigade, together with two companies of the 28th Brigade and the 57th Brigade and an assault detachments of the 35th Brigade, launched an offensive on Davydov Brod from #Belogorka and the lines two kilometres south of Davydov Brod.
▪️ The Ukrainian units were supported by artillery and MLRS from the outskirts of Belaya Krinitsa. Target acquisition was carried out by UAVs of the 28th Brigade. Mobile man-portable air defence systems and AN/MPQ-64 radars prptected the group from air strikes.
▪️ For several hours, Russian Forces shelled the Ukrainian attack areas. More than 24 AFU personnel were killed and at least four pieces of equipment were destroyed. Due to the losses of the AFU, the assault was suspended.
In addition, on the night of 4 October, the Russian Forces' barrel and rocket artillery massively struck more than 12 AFU facilities, including command posts and personnel locations, in the village of #Bereznegovatoye and at the railway station of the same name in the south.
▪️ The Ukrainian command is now restoring combat readiness by bringing more units of the 35th Brigade. The restored #Ingulets River crossings are being used to evacuate the fallen and wounded and to transfer equipment and fuel to the #Andreevka section.
The Ukrainian command will continue to storm the Russian positions in Davydov Brod in the next few hours. If they are successful in this area, the Ukrainian Forces will probably advance towards #Charivnoye to cut off the Russian Forces' grouping on the right bank of the #Dnipro River.

▪️ Due to AFU losses in the #Kupyansk sector, the Ukrainian command is considering a possible counterattack by the Russian Forces on #Kupyansk. Defences are being built to the east of the city.
▪️ In the #Svatovo sector, the 71st Jager Brigade of the Ukrainian army has crossed the #Zherebets near #Stelmakhovka and is preparing for an assault on Russian positions.
▪️ In the #Lyman sector, the AFU plans to resume the offensive on #Chervonopopovka with the aim of reaching #Kremennaya from the north.
Additional AFU reinforcements are being moved to #Ploshchanka to block the #Svatovo - #Kremennaya road.

The command of the United Grouping of Troops "Dnepr" is preparing for the winter period of combat operations and reinforcing forward positions before a possible offensive in the #Orekhov and #Gulyaypole sections.
▪️ Units of the 9th Special Forces Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine (NGU) have received EM-120 mortars and shells at the #Novoandreyevka - #Shcherbaki line.
▪️ The 9th Regiment in #Kamenskoye has been subordinated under the 44th Artillery Brigade, and a manoeuvre unit of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine has arrived in the area of responsibility of the NGU formation.
▪️ The work of a commission by the AFU generals was recorded in the #Charivnoye area. Immediately after the visit, meetings were held at the headquarters of the battalions of the 65th AFU Mechanized Brigade to discuss further actions in the direction during the winter period.
The better trained units of the 65th Mechanized Brigade of the AFU have replaced the 75th Battalion of the 102nd Territorial Defence Brigade. Tactical camouflaging of positions and mining of approaches to the outposts are cuttently being carried out.
▪️ In the second echelon, in the #Omelnik area, a combined-arms reserve of the United Grouping of Troops "Dnepr" is being formed, which also included the 16th Battalion of the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of the AFU, numbering 271 men.
🩸 The withdrawal of Russian troops from Kherson opened up the possibility for the AFU to move the previously committed reserves in other directions. Of all possible options, #Starobelsk and #Zaporozhye are the most important for the AFU, both militarily and politically.
Taking #Melitopol and reaching #Berdyansk would effectively encircle the Russian Armed Forces on the left bank of the #Dnipro River and reach #Crimea, as well as further attack the flank of the Donetsk grouping. It is likely that we will see a significant part of the AFU "#Kherson" formations here in the near future.
