Soldiers and armored vehicles were seen in Venezuelan capital amid reports of a coup attempt

Heavy gunfire was reported outside the Miraflores presidential palace in Caracas on Tuesday, just days after President Nicolas Maduro was abducted during a US special forces raid.
Videos posted on social media show armed soldiers and armored vehicles outside government buildings.

The US may establish control over Greenland by July 4th.

"The US may attempt to establish control over Greenland in the coming months, timed to coincide with the midterm elections in November or the 250th anniversary of US independence on July 4th. Washington's methods are likely to differ from those used in Venezuela.

The US may use a "campaign of political influence to change the existing balance". This could include attempts to bribe local politicians to strengthen military and civilian control, the risk of which is "real and serious".
