“We saw the repression of the citizens — more than one million citizens of Hong Kong took to the streets in pro-democracy movements over the space of a number of years and then we had the bounties on eight pro-democracy Hong Kong legislators,” she said. “Why would we be rolling out the red carpet and having a big celebration of their prowess?” said Margaret McCuaig-Johnston, a researcher at the University of Ottawa.

“I know that events such as this take a lot of meetings, a lot of discussion, surely someone at one of those meetings piped up and said, ‘These are Hong Kong police? We’re really having Hong Kong police at this event?’”

A Chinese secret medical lab was discovered in California in March. Prestige Biotech, a Chinese medical company allegedly operate the unlicensed lab.

At least 20 infectious agents were detected. Viruses such as HIV, COVID-19, hepatitis were found. 180 lab rat were found dead out of 900 of them.

"Certain rooms of the warehouse were found to contain several vessels of liquid and various apparatus," court documents said. "Fresno County Public Health staff also observed blood, tissue and other bodily fluid samples and serums; and thousands of vials of unlabeled fluids and suspected biological material."

Hundreds of mice also were found at the warehouse, where they were "kept in inadequate conditions in overcrowded cages" with no food or water, according to court documents. An associate with Prestige Biotech told investigators the mice were "genetically engineered to catch and carry the COVID virus," the documents added.

After the court rejected to ban the song “Glory to Hong Kong”, DOJ told the judge to follow the Chief Executive’s order. Maybe Hong Kong should consider not having a court at all.

#Hongkongers in #Canada are now proposing a Foreign Influence Transparency Registry to fight against #CCP influence in Canada. After Chinese Secret Plice Stations are exposed by the Candian Security Intelligent Service (CSIS), a lot of Canadians are concerned about the influence China has in Canada. Setting up a comprehensive system of Foreign Influence Transparency Registry is one of the most effective ways to safeguard the Canadian democratic system.

If the registration is passed, Foreign agents will need to list out their activities in the country. Hence, becoming more transparent about Foreign influences on policies within the country other than its own democratic system.

Anyone in Canada who successfully applied for Permanent Residence can sign this petition.

14 people convicted of rioting for the protest on Nov 18, 2019. The judge did not accept their confession and judge only based on physical evidence.

When it comes to destroying the rule of law in HK, the judges play a huge part as well.

Ridiculous persecution in Hong Kong continues

A man has been jailed for 4 months for important ingredients 18 children's books about sheep and wolves. The books were said to be "brainwashing" by the court.

A 79 years old activist, Chan Ki-kau,  also known as "Grandpa Chan", was arrested for displaying banners of couplet at Lion Rock Mountain on Sep 28.

The couplet can be translated as: fierce-browed, I coolly defy a thousand pointing fingers. Head bowed like a willing ox, I serve the children.

He was suspected to violate country park and special place regulation. He was released on bail and was told to report back to the Police in early Nov.

Hong Kong's court proceedings following the 2019 protests have raised concerns of injustice. High conviction rates and reliance on attire as evidence have sparked debates on fairness. Critics argue peaceful protesters may be targeted, undermining freedom of expression.

In November 2019, conflicts erupted at Polytechnic University and protesters gathered in Yau Ma Tei, Hong Kong. "The Court Line" reported that 333 people were charged with participating in riots. As of Nov 2023, 72% of cases were concluded, with a 96% conviction rate. In Yau Ma Tei, 164 individuals were convicted, with 5 directly involved in violence. Over 70% were convicted for wearing black attire or protective gear. Judges noted the severity of the protests, sentencing nearly half to 5 years or more in prison. Two defendants with extendable batons and telescopes received the highest sentences. #HongKong #PolyUSeige #HkProtest #HkDMovement
Jan 16: day 10 of Jimmy Lai's trial. Defense disputes relevance of expert reports to national security charges, while prosecution argues no need to prove Lai's actions caused foreign sanctions. Judge approves expert reports, stating they aid understanding of US actions against Hong Kong and whether they constitute "sanctions, blockades, or other hostile actions" under the National Security Law. Trial continues with the testimony of an accomplice witness.

It seems that the prosecution lacks a direct witness to support their accusations. Instead, they have relied on expert reports to present their case. The absence of a witness raises questions about the strength of the prosecution's evidence.
