Effects of pre- and #postnatal #maternal #stress on #infant #temperament and #autonomic #nervous #system #reactivity and #regulation in a diverse, low-income population

در پژوهشی که توسط پژوهشگران دانشگاه دولتی کالیفرنیا 🇺🇸 صورت گرفته است مشخص شد استرس #مادر در #رشد دستگاه #پاراسمپاتیک #فرزند، چه در دوران #بارداری و چه بعد از #تولد، تاثیرات منفی زیادی دارد. همچنین، مشخص شد فرزندان مادرانی که در بارداری استرس زیادی تجربه کردند، کمتر #لبخند میزنند، کمتر تعامل دارند و توان #تنظیم #هیجانیشان بسیار پایینتر است.

🔬این پژوهش بر 151 مادر باردار انجام شد که سطوح اجتماعی_اقتصادی متوسط و پایین داشته و سن بارداریشان مابین 12 تا 24 هفتگی بود. بررسی های #پیگیری تا 6 ماهگی فرزندان آنها ادامه یافت.

📚نتایج نشان دادند، هرچه استرس مادر بالاتر باشد، واکنش کودکان به استرس و #هیجانات #منفی بیشتر است. همچنین، نوزدان مادران پراسترس، درگیری و تعامل اجتماعی کمتری نسبت به نوزادان مادران کم استرس داشتند. نوزادان مادران پر استرس توانایی کمتر برای #تنظیم #هیجانی خود نیز داشتند. این نوزادان توانمندی کمتری در #انطباق پاسخ های #پاراسمپاتیک در شرایط استرس از خود نشان داده و ضعفهای بارزی در مدیریت و مقابله با استرس داشتند.

Abstract
We examined the prospective associations of #objective and #subjective #measures of #stress during #pregnancy with #infant #stress #reactivity and regulation, an early-life predictor of #psychopathology. #Regression models predicting infant #temperament showed higher maternal prenatal #PS predicted lower surgency and #self-regulation but not #negativity. Regression models predicting infant #physiology showed higher numbers of #SLE during #gestation predicted greater #RSA reactivity and weaker recovery. Tests of interactions revealed SLE predicted RSA reactivity only at moderate to high levels of PS. Thus, findings suggest objective and subjective measures of maternal prenatal stress uniquely predict infant behavior and physiology, adjusting for key pre- and postnatal covariates, and advance the limited evidence for such prenatal programming within #high-risk #populations. Assessing multiple levels of maternal stress and offspring stress reactivity and regulation provides a richer picture of intergenerational transmission of adversity.

پژوهشگران دانشگاه فنی کویینزلند 🇦🇺 و دانشگاه سارلند 🇩🇪، در پژوهشی که گزارش آن به تازگی منتشر شده است به بررسی عامل های موثر در میزان آمیختگی مهاجران/پناهجویان جدید در جامعه مقصد پرداختند.

🔬در این پژوهش، 267 پناهجوی عمدتاً #سوری که به تازگی به #آلمان وارد شده بودند از نظر ظرفیت #سازگاری #شغل، #تمایلات #کارآفرینی، هشیاری و توجه به کارآفرینی، #ریسک‌پذیری، #خودکارآمدی و تاب‌آوری مورد ارزیابی قرار گرفتند.

📚نتایج #معادلات #ساختاری نشان دادند:

1️⃣ #گوش‌بزنگی کارآفرینانه عامل پیش بینی کننده اصلی تمایلات کارآفرینی و سازگاری شغلی در مهاجران/پناهجویان تازه وارد هستند.

2️⃣ تاب‌آوری و خودکارآمدی بعنوان عامل های زمینه‌ای موثر بودند: این دو سازه پیش بینی کننده گوش‌بزنگی کارآفرینانه هستند که به نوبه خود واسطه بین آنها و سازگاری شغلی است.

3️⃣عامل های #شناختی و #شخصیتی تاثیر بسزایی در میزان #جامعه‌پذیری، #ادغام #فرهنگی و نیز سازگاری مهاجران/پناهجویان در جامعه مقصد دارند.

Abstract
In light of recent developments in the world of work towards increased uncertainty, a rapid pace of change and new possibilities for #intentional #self-development, subsequent research has strongly emphasized the role of #personal# agency (e.g., #self-initiative, #entrepreneurship, and #adaptability capacities) in taking advantage of this environment. Here, we adopt this view of personal agency to study early integration processes of #refugees facing personal situations that involve examples of extreme uncertainty combined with new opportunities. Specifically, we examine the relationship between #personality factors, #entrepreneurial #alertness and intentions, and #career #adaptability in a sample of N = 267 refugees (M = 27.56 years, 78.1% male), mostly from #Syria, newly arrived in #Germany after their flight. Employing structural equation modeling, the data revealed that entrepreneurial #alertness is a crucial proximal predictor of entrepreneurial intentions and career adaptability in newly arrived refugees. In addition, the personality factors #self-efficacy and #resilience were relevant background factors: they predicted entrepreneurial alertness, which in turn mediated the direct link between these background factors and career adaptability. The results underscore the relevance of an agentic perspective in the study of refugees by highlighting the importance of entrepreneurial cognitions and underlying personality factors for the early integration process.
