The fighting for #Artemovsk (#Bakhmut) is entering its climactic stage. The enemy in this direction is seriously exhausted, our units have penetrated deep into the city and are storming the main defensive line, and therefore the AFU command requires urgent reinforcements, otherwise the fall of the city will not only be inevitable, but will happen very quickly.

And here is where a very unpleasant fork of decisions emerges for Ze-k (Zelensky) and his gang. Surrendering a major city to the enemy would collapse the myth of an all-conquering Ukrainian army, without which Western aid could be curtailed. It would also be a blow to the image of the authorities inside the country and against the backdrop of a stalled front an unpleasant hint of future defeats.

And this is where they have to make a choice. Either withdraw their units from #Zaporozhye and #Svatovo and reinforce the grouping near Artemovsk, or invest all their forces in a final strike.

The game is very risky. And what Ze-k chooses, I think, we will see by the end of the week.

▪️ In the #Kupyansk sector, units of the AFU´s 14th Mechanized Brigade made another unsuccessful attempt to storm the Russian Forces' position at the #Kislovka - #Kotlyarovka line. Two enemy companies came under heavy artillery fire and withdrew to their initial positions with losses.

▪️ In the vicinity of #Dvurechnoye, units of the Russian Forces counterattacked units of the 1st Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine and repulsed units of the AFU from #Gorobyevka. The enemy moved to a defensive position on a small bridgehead on the eastern bank of the #Oskol River.

▪️ In the #Lyman - #Svatovo section, preventive artillery strikes were carried out against groups of the 71st Jager, 80th Airborne Assault and 25th Airborne Air Force Brigades of the AFU in the areas of the villages of #Stelmakhovka, #Rozovka, #Karpovka, #Ivanovka.

▪️ From the #Berestovoye area, a reinforced enemy battalion made another attempt to attack #Kuzemovka. After losing more than 10 armoured vehicles, the AFU withdrew to its initial positions.

#Lyman Sector:

▪️ Daily Ukrainian attacks towards #Krasnopovka by 2 battalion tactical groups reinforced with armoured vehicles.

▪️ In another attack attempt, the enemy was hit by Russian artillery and military aviation before retreating to a bridgehead near the #Zherebets River.

▪️ The AFU still has a reserve of at least six battalion-tactical groups at its disposal. This still allows Ukrainian commanders to rotate and try to wear down the Russian defences without regard to their own losses.

▪️ The enemy continues its attempts to reach the village of #Kuzemovka.

Judging by internal AFU reports, Ukrainian formations are reporting "heavy positional fighting" west of #Kuzemovka almost daily, with 200 metres of territory "captured" and "abandoned" at a time.

On the map this looks like a constantly changing frontline, although in fact it is a rather conventional control of the fields in the "grey zone".

▪️ An AFU assault group, reinforced by mobile groups of foreign mercenaries, attacked #Novoselovskoye from the direction of #Berestovoye. Taken under concentrated fire from Russian troops, the enemies was forced to retreat to their initial positions.

#Lyman Sector:

▪️ Assault groups of the 66th AFU Mechanized Brigade unsuccessfully attempted to attack the Russian positions in the direction of #Makeevka and #Chervonopopovka.

➖ Two companies of the enemy, supported by armoured vehicles, advanced stealthily from the #Zherebet River side to the #Svatovo - #Kremennaya route, but were ambushed. After suffering casualties, the Ukrainian units retreated to their original positions.

➖ A motorized infantry company, which had been detached by the AFU command to cover the retreat of the assault groups, came under targeted artillery fire and hastily withdrew to the river having lost a significant personnel.

▪️ The AFU forces tried to entrench themselves with up to a company under the cover of light armoured vehicles in the forest belt towards #Ploshchanka. A counterattack by fighters of the 3rd Motorized Rifle Division of the 20th Army dispersed the enemies and put them on the rout.

▪️ Enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups regularly cross the Seversky Donets River near #Serebryanka and conduct reconnaissance battle near #Dibrova.

🩸 Russian troops completed their withdrawal to the left bank of the #Dnipro River in #Kherson Oblast. After the last units of the Russian Armed Forces crossed the river, they bombed the Antonovsky Bridge in #Kherson and the Kakhovskaya HPP Bridge near Novaya #Kakhovka.

▪️ In the #Lyman sector, units of the 25th AFU Airborne Brigade have made several unsuccessful attempts to gain a foothold in the area west of #Chervonopopovka. The Brigade has suffered major personnel losses in recent weeks, but the Ukrainian command has repeatedly sent the fighters into the attack.

#Soledar Direction (MAP):

▪️ In the #Bakhmut area, assault groups of the 53rd Mechanized Brigade, supported by artillery, attempted a counterattack in the #Zaitsevo and #Otradovka areas. The Russian forces repulsed the attack and pushed the enemy back to its initial positions with return fire.

▪️ During the offensive against #Mayorsk, Russian forces took control over the eponymous railway station, an industrial zone and part of the development area. The AFU took defensive positions in the remaining area of the micro district.

#Donetsk Direction (MAP):

▪️ Fighters of the Separate Reconnaissance Battalion Sparta and 1st Slavyansk Brigade, supported by the 238th Artillery Brigade, liberated the village of #Opytnoye. The capture of the settlement has moved the frontline several kilometres away from #Donetsk and allows the offensive on #Avdeevka to continue from the southwest.

▪️ Ukrainian militants shelled the #Donetsk agglomeration again. Residential buildings and civilian infrastructure in #Donetsk, #Gorlovka, #Yasynuvata, #Dokuchayevsk and other settlements came under fire.

A flight also arrived in #Gorlovka, as a result of the hit to the Palace of Culture building there was a fire. The heaviest shelling occurred in Novaya Kakhovka, where authorities say one person died and three were wounded.

⚔️ Situation on the Fronts in the outgoing 24 Hours

⚫️ #Svatovo - #Kremennaya Direction:

The Russian army's actions thwarted attacks by four company tactical groups of the Ukrainian armed forces in the direction of #Svatovo, #Ploshchanka, #Makeyevka and #Chervonopopovka of the LPR. Artillery and aviation strikes destroyed six combat vehicles, one tank, five vehicles and 190 fighters.

The militants also launched an attack near #Vladimirovka and #Kuzemovka, but were repulsed by the Russian army.

⚫️ #Ugledar direction:

According to the Ministry of Defence, in the area of #Pavlovka, #Stepnoye and #Vladimirovka, units of foreign mercenaries unsuccessfully counterattacked in an attempt to halt the advance of the Russian army. As a result of our artillery and aviation efforts, the enemy suffered serious losses in personnel, and seven combat vehicles and two pickup trucks were destroyed.

Yesterday, sunny weather whispered to pilots in the #Svatovo direction that a column of the 92nd Mechanized AFU Brigade had advanced from #Berestovoye in the direction of #Kuzemovka.

At least five AFU tanks and several other armoured vehicles were destroyed by 'Vikhr' (Whirlwind) guided missiles. Khokhol also suffered significant losses in personnel.

▪️ To cover the ground grouping in #Kupyansk in the area west of #Yagodnoye, a short-range air defence system calculation as well as several mobile air defence units with man-portable air defence systems are operating.

#Svatovo Sector:

▪️ Assault commandos of the 2nd Battalion of the AFU's 92nd Mechanized Brigade launched an offensive towards #Stelmakhovka.

In the course of intense fighting, the Ukrainian formations consolidated on the western outskirts and advanced further towards #Kuzemovka. UAV calculations detected the AFU movement and Russian artillery and TOS strikes pushed the 92nd Mechanized Brigade back to its initial positions.

#Lyman Sector:

▪️ Reinforcements arrived at the #Novolyubovka - #Ivanovka line to reinforce the 25th Airborne Brigade of the AFU.

▪️ After an artillery barrage, a company of the 25th Airborne Brigade, reinforced with armoured vehicles, tried to break through towards #Chervonopopovka. Russian soldiers repulsed the attack.

▪️ Russian artillery struck the positions of the 25th Brigade in this area, killing two men and wounding 15 Ukrainian paratroopers.

#Lysychansk Sector:

▪️ Fighting is taking place in the #Belogorovka area. The AFU command has rotated personnel and wounded personnel of the 122nd Battalion of the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade. Several small UAVs are operating at the #Serebryanka - #Belogorovka line.

The other day, Ukrainian formations once again attempted to push through the Russian Armed Forces' defence north of Svatovo. The enemy infantry engaged in combat in a forest belt north of #Kuzemovka, taking cover behind a railway embankment.

However, Russian motorized riflemen engaged and halted the advance of the AFU. The advance was then hit by Grad MLRS from the 1st Tank Army, finally disrupting the enemy's attack and forcing the militants to retreat.

Almost immediately after the RF Armed Forces withdrew to the left bank of the Dnipro River and abandoned #Kherson, Ukrainian formations focused their efforts on conducting reconnaissance and assessing the state of defence on the Crimean peninsula.

♦️ What are we talking about?

▪️ Almost daily from early November to the second decade of December, commercial UAVs (such as the Mugin-5), "artificially" equipped with grenades, flew from the #Odessa region in the direction of #Crimea and #Sevastopol.

The reason for choosing these drones is obvious: they are cheap, accessible and can fly at predetermined coordinates at relatively low altitudes.

▪️ In addition, the Ukrainian command has adapted conventional aerostats to monitor Russian military activity on the peninsula by equipping them with cameras.

The main advantage of these devices is their low price as compared with any other drones. The main disadvantage is their dependence on weather conditions - a blimp can be launched only when there is a strong tailwind.

▪️ There is another pattern.

On the days of aerial reconnaissance and attempted strikes against Russian targets south of #Crimea, there was always a strategic RQ-4B/D UAV in the air. The drone monitored the location and nature of Russian air defence assets.

▪️ And a few more days before such "probes", Western commercial and military space systems were surveying the ground and land, transmitting the most important coordinates for strikes to the AFU.

♦️What are the AFU's tactics?

➖ Over several days/weeks, one or more UAV/aerostat sorties are conducted to "probe" #Crimea's anti-aircraft system and incite panic. Alongside this, there is a massive furore on social media about the bombings and arrivals.

➖ Within a day or two, Ukrainian formations receive data from satellites on the targets and re-flash the drones.

➖ At night, close to midnight, several drones are flown in, whose task is to detect the response of anti-aircraft missile systems to targets.

➖ The second and third wave of drones, equipped with improvised projectiles to hit military and industrial targets, follow the identified coordinates towards morning.

♦️What is the Point?

The Ukrainian leadership has made no secret of their intentions to seize the Crimean peninsula. However, at the moment, all their statements are only meant to create panic and discord in the Russian society.

The AFU's efforts are now focused on more strategically important tasks, namely reaching #Svatovo and #Kremennaya, holding #Bakhmut and breaking through to the Sea of Azov in Zaporozhye region.

Regular attempts to attack the peninsula using aerial and maritime drones, a terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, sabotage and information campaigns are needed to inflame the situation and once again demonstrate the Russian army's inability to defend its territories.

Activity has decreased in recent days due to unfavourable weather conditions. In the near future, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will resume attempting strikes in #Crimea. A new batch of drones has been delivered to #Odessa and #Nikolaev regions, and at least one Bairaktar is operating along the Black Sea coastline.

Western intelligence continues to work off Russian shores, while military and commercial satellites actively monitor the highest-priority targets for strikes, which include the Crimean bridge, industrial facilities in #Feodosia and military bases in #Sevastopol.
